Excellent HOB Skimmer Choice
I recently purchased the Reef Octopus BH-1000 to replace an AquaMaxx HOB-1.5. Thus far my conclusion is that the Reef Octopus is far superior to the AquaMaxx I've been using for a bit more than 2 years. To be sure, both skimmers are of high quality, but the AquaMaxx was a major pain in the whatever to assemble, to clean, and to reassemble. No such pain with my new Reef Octopus. Although it's still in its break in period, my impression is that it's working away quite effectively. Only one problem. The assembly instructions that came with it are essentially worthless. What saved me from what otherwise would have been a very frustrating experience was the easy availability of online videos that provided simple step-by-step guidance for how the unit should be assembled and then maintained.

Auto shut off does not work, don't waste ur money buy the regular one!
