stable, easy to attach and use.
The person/people that designed this did a superb job. Very safe to use and is also very stable. One can also use your own toilet seat and cover with this unit which is another major plus. Other competing units you can not do this.

Handles Great For Support
I researched toilet raisers on Amazon and chose this one for my 92 yr. old Mom after reading many great reviews. I then ordered this for her. She is not doing well these days so I always research and/or place all of her Amazon orders. I am cacci on Amazon if you wish to read my other reviews.I have changed many toilet seats before so have experience. I also have adjusted canes and assembled shower benches, so know how to press the small button to adjust height or insert a leg or in this case a handle. These handles and toilet raiser are labeled R and L. I had no trouble pushing the button to insert the Left handle but when the Right button was pushed it would not pop back up. In case any of you have this problem like me remove the small white plastic cap at the end of the handle. You can wiggle it out and just push it back in when you are done. I saw rhe pressed down button inside tbe handle was stuck in the down position and also off center. I gently took my screwdriver and nudged it towards the hole and the button popped up. I placed the cap back on the end and successfully got it into the raiser. So what should have been easy was hard.Next, I found the written instructions and picture confusing to install the bolts. All other toilet seats just have a plastic bolt and a very large plastic nut type thing you unscrew on and off. This raiser came with two very large long metal bolts, small metal winglike nuts, two metal rings plus two white plastic rings...possibly spacers. It was unclear what to do with the metal and white rings. After much trial and error, and my back hurting alot I finally was successful. I had to throw away the white rings as they never worked above or below, the toilet was loose. I ended up placing the long metal bolt thru the metal ring which stays on top. Then screwing the small metal wingnut from the bottom to tighten. I had to use a screwdriver to hold the bolt in place from the top while I turned the wingnut from below. I found this to be very difficult because the wingnut is very small and hard to grip and thread onto the bolt, you cannot see what you are doing from below. The bolt is very, very long as it has to go through your toilet seat placed on top of this raiser. It is a slow process and alot of turning. My back hurt alot and I had to keep straightening up to take a break. Finally, you tighten really hard from above with your screwdriver to make the fit secure and not moving. Remember, I had to do this two seperate times trying to figure out what to do witb the white plastic rings. It was really too difficult for me. Anyone who is physically challenged with herniated dics like myself or any other medical problems needs to ask a strong healthy person to install this item. Remember, this raiser is for my 92yr. old Mom, not myself. My opinion is If you are buying this item for yourself, you are not well enough to install it yourself. It is not complicated, but you need to be in great shape to bend and twist your body to do this. It is a really wonderful item and the hand supports make it superior to other toilet raisers. I deducted 1 star, giving it a 4 star rating due to the difficulties I mentioned above.

Manufacturer Needs To Work on Stability
Just installed this on 1/26/23 and let a mechanical engineer give you my opinion. It works great. Regardless of the stability I'll give this a 5.0 star because I had the extra hardware to fix it. Just had my 85 year old mother on it and the distance from the top of the toilet seat to the handle is just right. She struggles with upper body strength and it now able to sit and stand, unassisted, to get to her walker. Mounting the seat was easy. Here is the problem. The screws are metal and metal and porcelain don't mix. I suggest a plastic sleeve that the screw can insert into (needs to be a thin wall plastic sleeve) to protect the toilet from the screw. If the seat shifts the metal screw could contact the toilet and crack the toilet. This sleeve needs to be able to be cut to allow for different thicknesses of toilet. I plan to use some clear rubber tubing from Home Depot. You can't get the screws tight enough to prevent the front end riser that contacts the toilet from sliding. I just happened to have a thin sheet, 1/8" thick, of Viton rubber. I cut this rubber to fit between the plastic riser and the toilet to give it some friction to stabilize the front end. This really helps. I will eventually epoxy the Viton piece to the plastic riser to it won't fall in the toilet. When you tighten the screws it broke the plastic piece that my toilet seat has. I had to remove it, place a large metal washer under the slotted toilet piece, I then placed a plastic washer between the metal washer and the plastic riser, then tightened it up. This gave me more bearing area and prevented my toilet piece from squeezing into the slot in the plastic riser. I needed more surface area to tighten against. I have an elongated toilet and my toilet seat is a Chlorox brand from Walmart. The crack did not completely break the portion on the toilet seat. If there were some adjustable "U" shaped devices that could mount to the bottom of the plastic riser and fit around the toilet rim that might help to keep it from sliding. However, keeping that clean may be an issue.

It was hard to fit bidet
I got this riser because I’m going to have a discectomy next week, and most of the surgery videos suggested because you’re not allowed to bend, twist, or lift after surgery. A riser makes it easier to stand up from the toilet.I also wanted to get a bidet attachment that I could use with it. That was a bit of a struggle to find because most of them stuck out too far. The bidet by Biear that looks like a broom handle is what we settled on. Plenty of clearance. When you install it, the levels from the ground up are the toilet, the riser, the bidet, your old toilet seat. And then when we got done and tested it, water went everywhere. It was not from a leak in the bidet system, it was a leak between the toilet and the riser. water was running underneath. Fortunately, I had read a review here on Amazon where a man spoke of putting down a thick bead of caulk between the toilet and the riser. After we did that we haven’t had any issues. All in all, I’m pleased with this riser. Took us 20 minutes to install it.
