Reese Towpower 7074630 Spring Loaded Hitch Cover 2 inch

I bought this to replace the chrome trim and cap on my Reese hitch that was broken in a minor collision.The fit was very loose and the set screws are very ineffective. The fit might be better on a hitch with the chrome trim intact. Regardless many reviewers have complained about the fit.To work around it I used Permatex black RTV as an adhesive. It has been on now for a few weeks and seems solid. The black adhesive matches the hitch paint so any adhesive that squishes out is not noticeable.

Could not get this to clamp on my Reece hitch very snug. The set scres are not set back far enough to get past the ridge of the hitch end. Fell off 2nd time through car wash. Put back on. Several days later fell off somewhere on the highway.

Perfect fit for my Nissan Frontier OEM hitch. The best part is you do not have to take out the cover in order to engage trailer ... flip up and down

Unit is ok. Nothing special. The set screws could be a little longer. By at least 1/8 of an inch.

Cover has four set screws that secure it, and they are worthless on most receivers...To tighten it enough to hold you will likely break the narrow plastic in some location. Get a rubber removable cover instead.

Clean look and easy install. Work well with our without hitch installed.

Doesn't fit 2015 Chevy Silverado receiver...too shallow and set screws only damage receiver paint and force cover away from receiver.

REESE MAKES AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT!

Relatively nice product. Bought this to replace one I purchased months ago. Easy install process BUT the set screws could be a little longer. Previous one got pulled off in a car wash. I used construction adhesive on the inside of this one to adhere to the opening of the hitch. Centered it and tightened the screws. Let the adhesive cure for 48 hours. No issues now.

Easy to install but make sure all the tightening screws are evenly tightened or it may force the cover away from receiver and/or snap off. Test it by trying to pull it with low force to see if it's on good. I tried this a few times and adjusted the tightening screws until it was securely fastened onto hitch. I like the fact that the front spring activated plate folds down to easily insert your trailer hitch without having to remove it.

As expected. Was able to easily sand off the emblem for a nice clean look. The only reason I bought off Amazon was for prime delivery. The cover is $4 on ebay if you want to wait a week.

Lost on the first drive. Put it on tight, followed directions. went for a drive on a gravel road, got home and noticed it was gone! Obviously not happy with that!
