Perfect
Great size, not one of the really tiny board books but not huge either. I love this story and I love reading it to my toddler. The fox eats the gingerbread man at the end but not by crossing the river.

Fun for All
I bought this to read to my class as it is often impossible to find in the local library. It is a fun retelling of the story and the students really enjoyed it. It includes some questions for higher level thinking opportunities. Now run, run as fast as you can and buy this book from the book selling man.

Great version of a classic.
I teach preschool and have a love of children's books. My standards are high as not only must the pictures be appealing and the story make sense, but it also has to be written well and not too wordy or repetitive. (I know, I know, repetition is how children learn but I have a limit to what I can tolerate when reading, especially to a young group who have a hard time sitting still). Anyway, I found this version to fit the bill, and yes, of course, there is repetition but the kids are able to help me with the the gingerbread man's lyrics and the folks running after him, as they holler "Come back, come back!" It is not overly simplified or two complex. The author has struck a very nice balance and I appreciate that not to mention he also stuck to the demise of the gingerbread man rather than going a more p.c. route. It is a cookie after all.

Read This Book!!!
Aylesworth has done a fantastic job with his version of The Gingerbread Man. The book is told in a lively rhythm that keeps readers interested (even my youngest reader, who is almost 2 listens to this entire story). The Gingerbread boy gets past the Older couple who have baked him, a butcher, a cow, a pig, and by the time the baked gingerbread boy gets to the fox, who pretends his hearing is not well, readers will be surprised at what happens! This book is perfect for all ages. My children who really enjoy this version range in age from 23 months to 13.

The Gingerbread Man
A classic tale and excellent for an 18 month old boy. Very good thick board pages and the illustrations are really good.
