If you're having a lot of difficulty
If you're having a lot of difficulty with your life and have been for as long as you can remember, This is a great book to work through. Even if you don't have a personality disorder, it should help you understand your friends and loved ones who do. Everyone probably had these traits to some degree, so it's a great toolbox to help anyone deal more effectively with the world.

Great Buy
This has much of the same interventions that are common in CBT but provides examples of what can be expected from patients with personality disorders.

Not helpful for a therapist
I guess this book is meant for non-therapists who would benefit from learning the general basics of CBT overall. If you're in the field of psychology, then you know all of this stuff already. The information and exercises aren't directed toward any specific personality disorder. I thought that the information in each chapter would address the specific needs of each particular PD. Instead, the chapters are on general CBT ideas, such as Challenge Self-Defeating Thoughts, Challenge Your Negative Beliefs, Practice Stress-Reduction, Develop Problem-Solving, Develop Assertive Communication, etc. etc. Just the basic CBT stuff that can be applied to everything. For therapists treating PD's, I'd recommend The Personality Disorders Explained, by David J. Robinson. It's a much smaller, shorter book, but it's packed with helpful information on the cause and treatment of each PD. Guess I'll just stick with that one.
