Excellent for concrete floor (see hints)
At the tryout stage, this sneaker seems good. I loosened the laces hugely at the tongue and moved the slack up into the toebox eyelets. Now the toebox feels roomy (with socks that are a few years old, no longer super-thick). There's a LOT of slide in the ankle, which may be because of the loosened laces.I am hoping to use these for work, on my feet in a retail warehouse, on concrete floors almost all the time. Ive observed that a cushioned shoe is not always the best; sometimes a more rigid, supportive base can be better for 6-8 hr workday, even just 4 hrs, depending on the amount or lack of walking. The insert is more rigid, so I'll see if it helps. A gel insert can always be swapped out. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why someone was complaining about the tongue. The "gray" version isn't really gray; it's more a "geriatric taupe," accentuated by the fact that these have true leather uppers. But I tend to wear tans and earth-tones, so I ordered this color, already aware these had no fashion factor. I knew I would have to spend $ to get enough support, so I appreciate the monthly payment option. In my 40s, I sized down from 7 to 6.5, but in my 60s, I find that I really need the full 7. (My mom said her feet got longer too.) Even if I got new socks, I think there would still be enough room here. I always get wide shoes/sneakers and have stuck with New Balance for about 25 years.Apparently, no one gives a crap about proper shipping anymore. The shoebox was simply thrown in a plastic Amazon bag (no shipping box), and looked as if it had exploded from the abuse of shipping. The shoes were fine (hard to damage sneakers). Aside from superficial issues (appearance and shipping carelessness), I recommend these so far. Will update after I put some mileage on them.UPDATE: This sneaker demonstrated what a chiropractor once told me. "The human body is designed to MOVE." At first I settled on 2 different DrS gel inserts (not the "wide feet" version) and wore them simultaneously without the NB insert. My feet would be swollen by the end of a shift (socks creating wrinkles in my skin) and quite sore. But I noticed they felt better after a rush to the loo: rapid walking helped to pump fluid in and out of my feet, giving relief for 15 mins at a time. For a while, I wore a compression sock or "sleeve" which encourages fluid to pump up out of the foot. I carefully removed the "finish" stitching at the toes and the ankle for maximum freedom of circulation (see image). Then I started doing heavy labor on the job: lifting cases of beverages into place. With a compromised back, I had to squat to lift them. Who needs a gym? I started building muscle (pelvis/legs) on the job. And with this additional task, the rest of my day was more rushed. I walked faster throughout the store, all the time. The edema (swollen, sore feet) disappeared. I no longer needed to think about "snapping" my heels to my calves to complete full flexion/extension of my feet on the job. I was walking so vigorously, circulation of fluids through my feet took care of itself.I never went back to the original NB insert. I still used the double DrS gel inserts. They've compressed a bit, and because my feet are no longer swollen, there is more room everywhere in the sneaker. If I need more support, I just tighten the laces gently all over. I absolutely *avoid* tightening the last lacing (at the top of the instep, near the ankle), which would prevent fluid from exiting my foot and circulating up my leg.My conclusion: Don't be afraid to try one or more gel inserts with this sneaker; if you remove the NB insert, there's plenty of room to wear two. The stiffer support works well on a concrete or other hard floor. Create a routine of regular movement early in the shift BEFORE your feet hurt. Don't expect this or any shoe to make up for lack of movement; this sneaker will, however, give you the support needed to aggressively meet the challenge of a warehouse environment.

Number
Love new balance shoes. I have trouble with balance but these help keep me on my feet. I can wear them longer than any other shoes I have. Remember the higher the number the better they are for your feet

Great fit, very comfortable.
Great fit and very comfortable. Has very good support for stability without being stiff. I have wide and high arched feet that are hard to fit. These shoes are perfect for me. Glad I bought 2 pairs. I've worn New Balance shoes for years: work, walking, and hiking shoes. Never had a bad fit in any of them. Thanks NB for offering these diverse sizes, widths and styles.

A little too much support!
About 10 years ago, I purchased this same NB shoe model. From the moment I put my foot in it, it was the most comfortable shoe I had ever torn. Fast forward to now. I needed to replace them because they had gotten old and worn out. I went on Amazon and I was able to find the same model, but it said that it was a newer version of the older model. When I received them, I tried them on, and they were NOT nearly as comfortable. They didn’t have nearly as much cushion as the previous pair I had purchased. I was disappointed, but I kept the shoes because I needed shoes that I could wear for three days in Disneyland! During that three days, I ended up with sore red areas where the shoe was rubbing on the top of my foot. On my last day there I ended up wearing my cheap rubbery slides I purchased from a ‘big box’ store. Those were actually more comfortable than my new, NB shoes! I will hang onto these, as I do need a good shoe that supports my foot, however, I won’t be wearing these if I have to do a lot of walking. I’m still searching for a good walking shoe.

Best Walking Shoe!
I'm an avid walker and have been a fan of the NB 928 since it came out on the market. Have had all the updated versions of it, and on my 3rd pair of the V3's. This is by far the best shoe for walking. It is the most comfortable, has excellent support and is THE best quality shoe out there! I walk 3 miles every day on my treadmill, and have for decades. Pretty pricey, but lasts a very long time. I highly recommend this shoe!

Great for Supination
Review from wife:Durability: The outside is leather and holds up in Michigan winters. The inside seems to wear down in about a year. I have ordered a new pair yearly since 2016.Weight: I don't think they are notably heavy or light.Appearance: I started wearing these shoes in my mid 30s. Since they are black they go with everything. I wear bell bottoms a lot and they fit nicely under the bell. Some people may think they are wide but they are great for me.Pain Relief: I have pain in my calfs and hips when I do not wear these. The rollbar feature and support is great for my supination.

Not the same shoe.
I have bought this shoe style for 15 years without any trouble. I love the support and usual comfort. That being said I'm 2 months in and they hurt my rt foot/ ankle and hip. Its to late for a return and I'm stuck with an expensive shoe I can't wear. I am using an old pair from 2 years ago without any pain. I'm sorry to say I will not buy this brand/style again.

Toe box is too narrow, leather is too stiff
The toe box is too narrow - much narrower than it was in previous years. The leather is very stiff and bites into the area around the ankle. The shoe is very heavy. This shoe used to be available in blue suede, and that was comfortable - not too heavy, softer material, still fairly supportive. Please bring back that option and make the toe box wider.
