I loaned this book to a friend years ago and could never recover it. Finally found it on Amazon, and I am reacquainting myself with the Theater of the Absurd. Each play is so definitively the author’s own and universally relatable. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead (Stoppard) and The Balcony (Genet) are special favorites. Get it. Read it. Become an Existentialist (or at least enjoy the wittiness and relatability of each masterpiece).

When I bought this book it was solely for the purpose of academic study. And like all my textbooks I was planning on trading it in afterwards. But after reading these remarkable plays I plan on keeping them forever. These plays are amazing, shocking, provocative, insightful, and most of all, classic avant-garde. I will never forget these plays and I can guarantee you won't either.

I needed this for my english class so i bought it last min. and it is so simple to read and understand.... plus it has foot notes and the title of the book and the author on each page. loooooove it
