how can you possibly be POST-modern?
Easily, it turns out. The "modern" era was 100 years ago, which is of course linguistically exasperating. This book is an excellent introduction and overview to What Happened Next. A Norton anthology that combines Krazy Kat and William Gibson is truly a phenomenon to behold; highly recommended.

Required Text for College
I purchased this anthology for a class. I kept it, and after graduation I returned to it and read the other pieces. Some of the partial stories prompted me to purchase the works in their entirety.

Much more than a textbook!
This was suppose to be my English text book, but turned out to be a lot more than that... This book had the most interesting stories in it, all beautifully written. The concept of this book, having chapters of different all about a similar topics, was so well done. Bravo to everyone who worked on this book, and the writers of the stories and excerpts. You'll never stop reading the stories, they're extremely detailed and meaningful.

Some wonderful pieces.
One of my most dog-eared and underlined books. It's now a bit outdated, given the newer understandings of the canon in the last 10 years, but still incredibly broad and varied. Some wonderful pieces.
