Does this need to be cooked? i'm looking for something fat like this kust just slice and eat wothout cooking. similar to guanciale or lardo. thanks

No, eat it as is. Just like lardo. It comes shipped room temp, no ice packs, but since this is fat and not meat, there is no refrigeration required. Refrigerate it, or freeze it, then slice. The Ukrainian way is to cut thin slices of garlic and put on top, then put that on black (rye) bread and enjoy with a shot of vodka. I have heard that called Slavic Penicillin. I have found a Ukrainian grocery in town, that sells it and it is better than what what was shipped here. Perhaps you may have a shop in your area. I still enjoyed this product though. Enjoy!!

How long does it keep for?

We put it in the freezer and only cut off what we need. I still have some left and it’s perfect.
