Three Winners in this Round!
One of the best in the Kino lineup of 3-disc Film Noir sets. All of the movies here are top-notch, and all are exemplary of Film Noir, with dark story lines, a villainous character in each, and a general feeling of encroaching fate. The transfers are typically very good, with NO MAN OF HER OWN looking a bit soft--probably due to the intentional Paramount look. That film, based on I MARRIED A DEAD MAN by Cornell Woolrich, combines Noir elements and mistaken identity, and one of Barbara Stanwyck's best performances. In the other two, Noir greats Robert Ryan and Ida Lupino, and then-newcomer Charlton Heston head the casts. Thanks to Kino for making all these fine movies available on blu-ray!
