Everything you need to know
5/4/25 Update: this is absolutely junk. It never works. The sensor on the garage door doesn’t know if it’s opened or closed. If I open it and I’m not at home it won’t allow me to close it again. I had to ask my neighbor to close it for me. The app logs me out and I often can’t get back in. I’ve given up and am going to remove this. Spare yourself the trouble. Sadly, the camera is fine. It’s just the cheap app that stops working after 6 months and continues to go down hill from there. This camera does not come with an SD card. You also can't just put any kind of SD card in this. It needs to be a high speed SD card. Like what you would use in a go pro camera or something Like that. The instructions don't talk about the SD card or tell you how to format it once you put it in the slot. When you put it in the slot make sure the back of the SD card is facing the back of the unit. The metal strips will face the back. Then go into your app in settings and look for micro SD. If you didn't put it in correctly, you'll know it because it will tell you to put one in. I had to push my in a little further and then it accepted it. There is an option to format the SD card. Select that and wait till it's done. If you don't get the card you won't be able to play back video or hear sounds if you have that feature on.The set up of the camera was very easy and it took just a few minutes to get it set up. That was the best thing about this camera. The bracket is magnetic and it's awesome. It sticks right to my garage door opener. I still had to use the 3M sticker because the vibration would move it. Once I did that, I had no issues. The camera is clear and works well in the dark. So far I love it. There are a few things I don't like. Alexa Works at times but keeps telling me it can't open the garage. Some times it work but then it doesn't. It's terrible. Not a deal breaker because I really won't use that feature much. At times the garage door will say it's open when it's closed. That's kind of annoying but I can still see on the camera if the door is shut or not. Overall despite some of the features not working well , I still really like this garage door opener.

Unreliable Device That Eventually Just Stopped Working
I bought the Ampoza on **July 17, 2024**, and initially, it seemed like a great smart device. Setup was fairly smooth, and for the first few days, it actually worked though not flawlessly. Sometimes it wouldn’t respond to commands right away, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.Over time, the device became more and more unreliable. It would randomly disconnect from the network, and when it did connect, it wouldn’t always respond especially when trying to open or close it remotely. Now it’s completely stuck on a **“Can’t connect to Ampoza”** error, and I haven’t been able to get past it. I’ve tried everything from resetting the device, reinstalling the app, switching networks, disabling VPNs, even moving it to a different Wi-Fi environment, still no luck.No luck on technical or customer support either, no live chat, no real troubleshooting resources, and no response from the company. Unacceptable!!!Bottom line: it **did work** at one point, but only sporadically. For something that’s supposed to bring convenience, it ended up doing the opposite. Unless Ampoza improves both its reliability and customer service, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Time saver
What simple and great product right out the box. Easy setup and works well with phone app. My garage door use to come up sometimes when I was away and even though I have cameras inside and out. I had to drive home to close door. Now with this product all that is over. Can open or close from anywhere within seconds plus cameras base is magnetized so fits right on bottom of opener motor with ease. I LOVE IT and plan on buying one for my son.

Product Does not work and Zero customer service from supplier.
Great for a paper weight. I have installed hundreds of smart door opener and was really interested when I came across this unit. It checked all the boxes; little to no wiring, easy programming by matching the frequency of the garage door with a camera to boot. All good features if they ever worked. To add a unit to their server is a guessing game as most of the time the code they sent to sign in does not work, you are never sure when a unit is added to the server as in the few cases that it did add, it took a dozen tries.Their customer service is non existent as I have yet to get any reply to any of the email I sent. After installing 10 units for my customers we found out that the customers accounts were wiped clean and we had to return and try to add the units back to their account which can take forever. Conclusion? We have removed all the units we installed and they are now paper weights in our store room. A single star is a lot as this product deserves a lot less. As for their claim that this product was developed by former TP Link engineers? Please don’t buy that line. Kasa is one of our top selling product and I have yet to see a Kasa product perform this poorly and with zero customer service and support

Does not work right, no support.
D O N O T B U Y ! ! ! ! !I own it for 1 year and had multiple issues. None of them was handled by CS properly. Original door sensor did not work. CS promised to send a new battery but never did. After I replaced the battery they agreed to replace the sensor. Never did. Two months ago the camera stopped sending notifications. CS keeps telling that they are aware about the issue. No solution, no replacement. Video works fine. Voice commands via Alexa work sporadically.CS stopped responding. No more promises.Update: as the last attempt to restore functionality tried to reinstall the app. IT DOES NOT EXIST any more. Sent multiple requests to Ampoza. Never responded.Do not buy!!! Do NoT BuY! DO NOT BUY!
