As expected.
Doesn't really taste of anything but still gets a 5 for flavour because it's not actually supposed to taste of anything. Tastes of whatever you cook it in. You get a lot for your money, so that's good. As far as versatility goes, again, tastes like whatever you put it in. I basically use it as a substitute for chicken or pork. There's not really much to say about it to be honest other than it does exactly what you want it to. I wouldn't go raving about it to anybody because that'd be akin to getting excited about a bag of rice, but I literally cannot fault it at all.

Happy with this purchase
Large clusters, better after an overnight soak with some broth or spices. Will buy again..!

Good value for money, and one of the best dried soya chunks available
We've been vegan for over 8 years, and have spent a lot of time looking for good soya chunks - mainly to make sure our protein intake is kept high. These are one of the best we've found, and certainly the best at this price. The chunks are larger than most, which we like. They have a fairly solid texture when re-hydrated (even after a long soaking) which is not as good as some more expensive brands.it is true that they don't have much flavour, but then that's expected with a produce like this. We add the flavour when we cook. Personally, I usually hydrate them in hot water with a it of miso.

Excellent
Yum yum yum. Lasagne, bolognese, moussaka, etc. Filling, fulfilling, tasty, no meat! Might just want to make sure you get the organic French variety, rather than the Brazilian!

Love this
As a vegan and personal trainer, this is a staple in our house. The quality and value for money is unparalleled. If you like soya chunks and/or need to up your protein intake in a clean, easy and sustainable way, this is it.Cooking tip: I leave it to soak in a covered bowl/pot with salty boiling water until I'm ready to cook, then all it needs is draining and and adding to the pan with the rest of your ingredients/seasonings.

Really awful texture
I've a few differant brands of TVP.This is really bad.The texture after following the rehydration instructions was grainy, chewy and very unplesent.I made my Christmas pie with it but had to eat around the chunks and threw the rest away. There were a lot of very dark brown pieces on my bag so maybe I got a bad one.Awful, avoid.

Really like these. Make a diet high in protein easy and delicious
I add these to almost all of my rice and pasta dishes (curries, soups, stir-frys etc.). They are the perfect size and consistency to soak up flavour without becoming watery. I let them sit in a bowl of hot water with some stock powder for a few minutes until they aren't crunchy anymore. Then I fry them with any vegetables. I would recommend these to anyone, especially if you prefer a high-protein diet. They have been out of stock for ages now. Hope they come back soon, as I ran out and even as a tofu lover, these chunks are just much easier to cook with.

Different texture. Dense and required real cooking
*UPDATE *Well after eating them for a few times I kinda get used to the texture. Yes it's still dense and crumbly but I kinda enjoy it now. I think being long term wfpb vegan make me susceptible to any food regardless of its flavour and texture 🤣🤦 Original review is below.*****************************************************The texture is different from other soya chunks. Normally, all other soy protein is airy, light, porous, spongy and soaked up water in matter of minutes. Sometimes you don't even need to soak before cook or only need to be cooked for couple minutes. It can even be eaten straight out the pack because it's that light and crunchy. This one however is quite dense and heavier. Even after soaking in hot water for 30 minutes, then cooked in boiling water for 5 minutes doesn't even make a real difference. It's still somewhat denser, heavier, not soaking much of a water or flavour. I love spongy texture soya chunks that soaked up soup and burst in your mouth when chew so I don't like this one.If anything maybe someone may like it because it feels closer to real meat? Even that it would be a bad chicken meat to me. It's kinda dense but crumbly. I just don't enjoy it at all.
