Plasti-kote 400ml Twist and Spray - Clear Gloss 400ml

I bought this for my father to protect an old wooden fishing tackle box he takes out to sea.He says the spray has protected the box well from the salt water and the finish looks nice.

Good quality sealant - acrylic for my mixed media art and collage work. 400mls covers a great deal of work and all I can say is ........ don't overdo it. Too much you cant take it off, too little you can spray again.make sure you do your spraying outside or in a well ventilated area. It will coat everything it lands on including you and furniture.The coverage is lovely- gentle shine and soft to touch once dry. Dries within 15-30 minutes to recover. Leave for couple hours to dry thoroughly before using .Excellent product, easy to use

Does the job well. As an uninitiated user, I had no idea that the little tab near the nozzle needed removing. It would have been good to have an indicator to say ‘remove’. So, the first attempt resulted in a dripping mess onto my project until I realised that the tab prevented the spray from being directed out. Hence the 4 stars. For those experienced, there will be no problem. Very good product.

I used one can to spray an adult -sized bicycle frame and forks. After putting on four coats there was not much left. I am very pleased with the result.To have a frame stripped and re-coated with stove enamel is costly. If there is only a limited amount of rusting, spraying with acrylic is a good alternative. The original paintwork and transfers are made shiny and further corrosion is prevented for a while.Obviously you need to follow the instructions on the tin, and you are likely to get better with practice. The bike frame has to be very clean and free from oil. I washed it, wiped it with white spirit and then with meths. If you hold the spray too close, or put a coat on too thick, it will run and may look opaque. If you hold it too far away the finished surface can look matt. When you get it right the little drops coalesce into a shiny transparent coat.

I've purchased this a few times for various projects, it does exactly what it says. You can also build it up to create a great gloss finish. I've used in on polymer clay, canvas, over vinyl, etc, never had an issue. Just make sure you use it in a well ventilated area.

My first “easy spray” bottle didn’t spray at all so I had to ask for a replacement. The gloss itself if lovely but it does still smell several days later. I use it on printable sticker sheets after I’ve printed on them and it really brings out the colour and adds more gloss on an already glossy sheet as I found when the ink dried on the sheets the colours were dull. However 3 of the 7 sheets are still extremely tacky to the point they’re sticking together, and what’s weird, it’s the sheets with the least amount of spray? I’ll leave it a few more days but it works well when cutting with the circuit machine. I’m glad I bought it but I will be trying an alternative next time.

We bought this specifically for salt dough sealing which it does very well. The gloss really makes the vibrant paint colours we went for stand out. It is easy to apply but do use gloves to stop your hands getting coated. There is also a strong smell so follow the guidance on applying in a well ventilated area, and for us we did it in the garage.

Used only in model making and gives a a good even spray
