I have mine for a few years and it does not have a magnet. I don't know about the 2020/2021 mitts.

I don't know the temperature range, but from my own experience I have used them at high temperatures such as 425F and when broiling at 500F without any problems. This is a very good product as compared to other pot holders.

Q: Can this be used under a bowl in the microwave to make the hot bowl easy to lift?

To,lift bowls yes. To leave in microwave under a bowl while heating I would strongly disadvise . Microwaves can ignite cotton and fabrics in a cooking scenario. A pair of cooking silicone gloves might be a better all round solution to lift hot bowls.
