OXO Good Grips Silicone Oven Mitt - Black

It’s a bit too-thick for my canning & picking up hot jars, but does an excellent job for handling very hot pans from the oven. Very sturdy & durable.

I picked up one of these when we first moved into our home 6 years ago. Loved it. Protected our hands from the heat and it was easy to clean if something got on it. Since moving in we were given a pair of All Clad oven mitts as well. If you’re not familiar with the brand, they make excellent pots and pans. Their oven mitts aren’t so great… so instead of continuing with one great mitt and 2 mediocre ones I bought another OXO silicone oven mitt and gave away the All Clad ones. Both hands are well protected from the heat, both gloves rinse off quickly in the sink, and both hands come out of the gloves fuzz-free. Everyone should have these in their kitchen!

This is the first time I purchased a Silicone Oven Mitt. At first it was a little awkward to use since I was used to cloth oven mitts. However, I finally got used to the mitts and love the fact that I am no longer getting burns on my wrists or having the mitt get scorched due to the heat of the oven. I am now sold on using the silicone mitt from this point forward.

This could be a heart-breaker. I love these mitts, BUT even though they fit my hands nicely, the gauntlet won't fit over my shirt sleeves! I either have to wear them bunched up, or roll-up my sleeves so that they fit. This seems almost absurd - I can't believe that so little thought went into the sizing of these things. I may or may not keep them. I love Oxo products, but these are really lame, as Oxo products go.Update: well worth rolling up one's sleeves, the heat-resistance is great, and they seem well made. Still, probably not a good mitt for a man with larger hands (mine are small.)

The outer silicone surface is perfect for keeping the heat away and so practical for cleanup. Every time I take something out of the oven I manage to dunk my thumb or top of the mitt in the food. Now I can clean it right off. But unlike other silicone mitts I’ve tried, these aren’t bulky, so I have great control and they’re easy to clean.

Very nice mitts. Don't get wet, so no burnt hands. Super easy to clean up if oopsie happens. Will buy again.

These oven mitts seem to be good quality however they are too big for my average sized hands. I can't get a good grip when taking things out of the oven with these. Feels like you have on winter mittens that are just too big and your hands are sliding around in them. My last pair fit perfectly so this was disappointing.

My old comfortable oven mitts finally bit the dust after many years. My wife and I have purchased a half dozen sets in the past couple years which either didn't hold up, didn't grip pans, or were uncomfortable. These did the trick. They fit us each pretty well and work beautifully. The first time I used them I knocked one into a greasy pan in the sink and discovered how easily they clean up. I've taken things out of a 550 degree oven with no regrets. They aren't cheap, but neither is my collection of substandard mitts.

Je les aime bien sauf pour un détail...le pouce :-((( J'aimerais bien que les fabricants de gants de cuisine fassent des pouces qui plient vers le dedans. Ce serait tellement plus facile de prendre une plaque ou autre contenant s'ils étaient confectionnés ainsi. Mais mis à part ce détail, ils sont très bien! Merci!
