Same ol same ol
I just don't know why I keep reading. I should quit, but I hate not finishing a series to the end once I've started. As I've said in almost every other review for this series, I prefer the show. Maybe it's because of when the books were written that I'm not relating to or maybe it's the characters, but I'm just not relating to anything. I'm still wanting to know who gossip girl is, which I'm sure is the whole point of continuing to read it. But still just something about it I don't like. I think the "gossip" in this book is so unrealistic, every time the girls make up gossip about Serena and Blair I roll my eyes because half the time it just doesn't make sense. I understand the point of gossip is that it's not true, but usually gossip is at least close to the truth not as unrealistic as it is in this book. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's because I live in a small town and gossip is different here, who knows...

Spring break and anticipation
At long last spring break has arrived on the Manhattan prep school calendars. The topic of discussion for weeks has been who is going which fabulous location and partying with which equally fabulous other A-lister. If nothing else the stressed out Seniors have to do something to take their minds off the long awaited college letters. Blair is in desperate need of a break as she waits to hear from Yale and tries to avoid hearing her mother gush about the all too soon to arrive newest member of the family. Nate is celebrating his release from Rehab by taking to the slopes of Sun Valley with his latest girlfriend Georgina. Vanessa and Dan have recently been discovered by the Art world but the question is will they be taking it by storm together or separately. If you don't know who these people are go back to the beginning of the GOSSIP GIRL series about the lives of the wealthy prep schoolers who frequent only the best Manhattan parties. The GOSSIP GIRL series (I LIKE IT LIKE THAT is the fifth) is a SEX AND THE CITY soap opera like series targeted for the 15 and over set. For those readers much over 15 it is definitely in the guilty pleasure category, but it is fun. The spoiled rich kids the series centers on are never short of cash and are rarely bothered by parental interference, in short they are living out every teenager's fantasy. This is absolutely a series to be read quickly and enjoyed without spending too much time thinking about whether or not it is realistic - seriously in what alternative reality would any parent insist on a seventeen year old girl sharing a room with her new step brother - also seventeen?
