The Action Bible New edition Hardcover – January 1, 2010

My oldest (5 year old) son is a visual learner, so my wife got this at our local library. Soon afterward we placed an order on Amazon. He wants to read it every night, and it has him asking great questions, spawning teachable conversations. I could only think of one or two other things that are as good as an investment PERIOD. It strikes a good balance between telling the nitty gritty (violence, adult situations) while not being explicit. And as such, I'm comfortable with my small children reading/looking at the book. I cannot stress my pleasure in making an accurate representation of the scriptures accessible to my young children. I do have VERY small theological quibbles, but I'm sure if you put any two Judeo/Christians together you'll see something similar.The audio CD, on the other hand is "OK" - basically remixes of CCM songs. I find them catchy, but ultimately forgettable.

Glad I purchased this for my special-needs son to follow along with his Action Bible (he doesn't care for reading on his own due to tracking issues and prefers this mode of reading). They are no longer in production, and you have to buy them second hand! He greatly appreciates the read-along audio, which includes animated voice drama and music.

My 92-year-old mom wanted it, so I did not get to read it all yet. I did take a quick look. It has some really great active illustrations. I'm sure young kids would love this. Yet it is a bit short on content. I would pair it with an easy-read full-version bible such as the Living bible for starters.

Kids are super engaged and love the stories.

My son loved this Bible! I got it for him when he was 9. He read it from cover to cover. Now he is 16 and his youth pastor is so amazed about his knowledge of the bible. Now that my grandson is 9 I bought it for him. He loves it too!

This is not a comic book! It breathes God's word into someone like the actual bible

This cd is great! My son listens to it all the time. I like reading the Action Bible to him, but having the different voices makes it so much better. Great product! The only thing is I wish it wasn't MP3 because that limits the places we can play the cd.

I love dramas and I love the Bible. If you are looking for an audio bible that brings the Bible alive, then go no further. It is great to listen to on road trips and gain some spiritual nourishment at the same time. Give it a listen!
