Use recommended oil weights for the life of your motor .
I have 2 Silverado’s trucks one with a 4.8 liter the other 5.3 a d the Impala has a 3.5 v6 but amazingly the Impala will win on a 1/2 mile race by a few hundred feet . Been a valvoline oil since 1977 . Have used others found that most get dark fast other don’t hold up to higher temps .if you decide to use valvoline first use a 5 minute motor flush drain and then start with a fresh clean motor fir your new oil . Use aprópiate weight oil recommended don’t use different weight oil because of mileage those who recommend to use different weights cause if mileage need to take a class in advanced automotive. I got costumers with 340,000 and some 380,000 using 5-30 of course they have brought there vehicles since they were new and other than some oil very little moisture around oil pan with that mileage is expected but other than that a dry exterior . There is good oils expensive oils what i use Valoline 20-50 ,10-30 , 10-40 5-20 ,5-30 0-20, is more than hood enough for my use no complaints here but to recommend this oil no hesitation here of course . But start like I said motor flush first then use Valoline and see for your self clean oil after a oil change not dirty oil after a oil change LOL enjoy all of you pros and rookies.

This is top notch oil.
If you are looking for top tier oil for a reasonable price look no further than Valvoline. This oil has a very good additive package. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good oil for a high mileage engine.

frequent oil changes = happy engine
There’s something in this oil that makes my car feel and run better after I do my oil change. I originally used Mobile 1 but then made the switch to Valvoline. Both brands hold up to their name and value.
