Worked well first try. Hardest part was waiting. Very simple to use.
I followed the instructions using Trader Joes Greek yogurt for a starter and run of the mill 2% milk at nearly room temperature. Poured boiling water in the base and gently lowered the tub into it. Be careful, I did burn my fingers because I didn't expect the water to come up that high. I ended up dumping a bit of water out to get it just right. After ten hours I removed the tub, opened it up and stirred it before closing it and into the fridge. Another twelve hours and I had yogurt that tasted very good. It was a bit runny but that just meant I could drink it, no need for a spoon. I added a bit of vanilla and about an eighth teaspoon of stevia and it was awesome.Had a couple issues with shipping, in the end it took way too long but the shipper made it more than right. Way to go "A '21stCenturyKitchen'"!

Makes great yoghurt easy
Making yoghurt is a pretty basic process, but the yoghurt needs to stay sufficiently warm for a few hours. All non electric yoghurt makers are essentially the same as this one. When making yoghurt look up a yoghurt recipe and use those instructions rather than the ones that come with this yoghurt maker and you shouldn't have any problems. I make mine in the evening and leave it out overnight. Up to 12 hours will make a nice yoghurt that isn't too tart. Also note: the yoghurt will be somewhat thin. This will always be the case unless you strain it to make greek yoghurt!

Inexpensive vegan yogurt from home-made soy milk
The Miracle Non-Electric Yogurt Maker (ME62) can make vegan yogurt based on soy milk with no trouble at all.First I make double-thick soy milk with a Joyoung soy milk maker by soaking a cup rather than a half-cup of soybeans overnight. Then I refrigerate the soy milk for 8 hours or more before using. For my first batch, I used half a packet of Real Yogurt culture made with a non-dairy vegan medium by Cultures for Health (culturesforhealth.com, 4 packets for $9), following the Miracle Yogurt Maker's directions for regular dairy yogurt. Thereafter, I save 3/4 of a cup of the finished yogurt to use as a starter for the next batch. The yogurt comes out firm, with the liquid separated, tart, but a little bland. It's easy to whisk the liquid back into the yogurt, or you can pour it off if you like firm yogurt. I've also made yogurt with regular home-made soy milk, but I found it a little thin for my liking. For a beverage, it would be fine. How commercial soy milk would work out, I have no idea. At any rate, for essentially the cost of a cup of soybeans, I can make a quart of vegan yogurt (well, technically 26 oz, since I use 6 oz for next batch's starter). I suppose eventually I may have to refresh the starter, but getting 8 fresh starts for $9 isn't exorbitant, and so far the saved culture has worked fine.

Non electric yogurt maker
It doesn't retain sufficient heat to make the yogurt . I found that adding extra starter yogurt and switching out the water plus wrapping it in a blanket will make yogurt after 16 hours.

Easy to use
Well made and easy to use. I've made several batches of soy yogurt. I like that there's a single large internal container instead of a bunch of small, individual containers.
