Q: Can I bring this on a plane? I want to bring it to Florida with me

Although TSA lists magnets as approved for travel in both carry on and checked bags (see TSA's What Can I Bring? list on their website), the final decision rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint. Since they still may deny boarding with the magnet we would not recommend attempting to bring the it with you on a plane.

Q: Could you use this while on a boat or would the magnet stick to the boat when pulling it out of the water?

Most boats are made of non-magnetic materials, such as fiberglass, aluminum, or stainless steel. None of these things would cause the magnet to stick to it. The only vessels that the magnet may stick to are larger ones, like cruise ships, or tugs that have steel hulls.

Q: I noticed the testing setup on the product page is using a different carabiner. What are the specs. on the included carabiner?

The included carabiner is rated to 5,600 LBS (25KN). We design all of our kits so that the rope and accessories will exceed the pull strength of the magnet.
