Brilliant set for copperplate and spencerian!!
The pen is excellent! This is the only oblique pen holder available in India, and it is certainly a great option to go for. I loved the 101 nibs that came with it. The holder is also nice and light weight!Amazon service was also great! I got it 2 days before the delivery date. This set is great for copperplate and spencerian script. If you interested in them, so do go for this set! :)

Speedball and the problem
If you have ZERO idea about copperplate calligraphy and want to try your hands, then go for it. I have been practicing brush lettering for quite some time now but copperplate calligraphy was my first attempt. The set comes with a 'made in china' oblique holder, 4 pieces of 101 nibs and 2 of 103. The longer nibs (101 I guess) lasted for exactly 3 practice pages of size 14cmx18cm (apprx). The shorter nibs were a big disappointment. One laster for exactly half a page and the other one was defective from the beginning (could not even finish one line before it started to scratch the paper). For the cleaning part, even after cleaning it with water after every 15-20 mins and drying it off completely in between use the nibs still managed to accumulate rust. India has very limited options for copperplate calligraphy, therefore speedball's nibs and pains are a better bet than other available ones.

The famous Speedball oblique holder
This is the only renowned oblique pen holder available in Amazon.in. All the Copperplate and Spencerian calligraphy enthusiasts may order this product without further research. The product is not perfect. There is this inherent problem with Speedball oblique pen that the pointed tip of the nib does not align with the centre-line of the shaft. However, this is the best you get in India. Speedball Hunt nibs are scratchy but gets the job done. The holder can hold Leonardt Principal EF nibs.

It's good, but expected better for the price.
The media could not be loaded. Â I'm a total newbie to the world of calligraphy. I initially practiced a little with brush pens and then was fascinated with copperplate calligraphy.I checked a lot of nibs online and found this with the best rating and ordered it.This is my third day of using it and here's what I've faced so far -1) Initially the ink wasn't getting stored but yeah, you should prep your nibs with the potato method and you'll see the difference.2) Only 2-3 of the 6 nibs work well. The rest aren't that great cause the tip of the nibs are a little sharp so the ink will splatter and will ruin your paper. (I've attached a photo of it too) Wish the tips were a little smoother of all to do the flourishes easily.3) I'm facing a little problem with the smaller nibs as even though the ink is stored in the vent, it doesn't really flow to the tip while writing.Lastly, since I'm a complete beginner, I can't really comment on it..I'm still figuring out how to use. But all I can say is that, if you're someone like me who's new, buy a single nib which you'll get it at a very very low price and then practice rather than going for a whole set because even if you buy a set, you'll end up liking just one or two.So practice with a single nib and then when you've got the hold on copperplate, buy a set. That's about it! Hope this helps :)

Damn this thing lit !!! just loving it <3
Before buying this, i had lot of questions, would be the nibs good to write or not, will i get the rusted one,But after getting it.. then there comes the real magic happens .. all in mint condition ..perfect traditional way to write italic's.pro: 1.really smooth to write. 2.it can write up till 4 words as per my tested result. 3.comfortable pen holder...which is the classic one which i prefer.cons:1.when u dip the pen ink ,it really takes an 15min to pickup till its nib tip. 2.Every nibs reservoir is quite delicate,no violence while writing and even unboxing as well.

Amazing, Loved it.
The nibs were in good condition as shown in the picture. I would recommend it for beginners too. Also, Finearts and Lounge are very generous. Thank you.

Loved it!
These nibs are amazing. You can get flat strokes with pointed ends very easily. They glide smoothly over paper. I recommend a thick & opaque ink with this (like the Krishna ink or Indian ink).I am giving 4 stars cos Amazon took forever to deliver this product.

The best calligraphy set out there
The best calligraphy set out there. I had searched a lot online and did a lot of research to find a good quality pen and bib set for sketching and calligraphy. I make illustrations with ink and it’s very important for me to find good quality materials and mediums. Have been using it for a week and it seems loved up to its reputation.

Easier and neater than you would expect!
I am a bit of a comic artists and I wanted to try inking my art in a more traditional way, rather than the technical pens or brush pens. I was pleasantly surprised as it was a lot easier than I expected it to be, with a lot more control. Basically, you dip the nib into the ink (acrylic or indian), do a couple of practice lines to rid any excess, then you're good to go.The nib holds the ink through either magic or science (I think magic, but have no proof), and holds quite a bit. You have a amazing amount of control over the lines and the results look inpressive. Would definitely recommend.it's not replacing the pens or brushes, but definitely adds another creative option. There's quite a few videos on youtube which give advice - if you're not sure, then I recommend watching them

Good set for fine detailed drawing or calligraphy
Considering the nibs supplied this seems far more suited to calligraphy than sketching, which is why I have not given five stars. That said all the nibs are pretty good and the holders are excellently weighted. For very detailed stuff, with a lot of straight lines, this is pretty good. But without a Japanese nib soft mapper, curves aren't too easy. There's a good mix of flexible and non-flexible/elastic and non-elastic thoughWorth the money but it might not be the set if you're really wanting a drawing set. I see they have a cartoonist set and the nibs there look much better.

Yes buy it, try it, no mess no fuss, dive in. Dip Pens woo hoo =o)
I have never used a dip pen before so I wanted to try it, to see the ease of it and the practicality of using it to sketch with or zentangle, outline etc. I used Windsor and Newton Ink (the one with Mr Spider on the box) Firstly the actual handle is lighter than I thought, it was also slightly smaller. The the smaller of the two is very easy, the slightly larger handle also very easy to write\draw with. How I did it. Open the ink and dipped the pen till it covered the little holes in the nib end and voila! That easy. No mess, no fuss. The larger nib is a joy, very precise. Those familiar with fineliners will be surprised at how fine this line actually goes. There is I think 6 nibs in all, 3 fit the big pen 3 the smaller holder. 1 for my big holder didn't work, all did for the small holder. But nibs are cheap enough to get experiment with break\replace.My conclusion. Well I got ink on fingers, not a lot, but a bit, well that's fine, in fact I felt quite the artist, I'mmm Inking a creation (scribbling\doodling) It was a hell of a lot of fun, its just super black when your pen nib to page, I't feels so morish, you find yourself crosshatching drawing little doodle, NOTE the sketching nibs don't write well at all, but sketch they do, I found 2 nibs really scratchy, but they had the own kinda effect. I love two of the nibs super fine, I could get a wide to thin line, eg from a micron 0.8 to 0.2 in one little stroke, and even thicker. I also found to my total joy, they leave a texture, its very very slightly embossed, given a tiny bit of texture. Using with markers, I used a promarkers with it. and it smudges the marker so not marker proof. However I didn't leave the ink overnight. If you wanna try, do I will be using it a lot more then I'll get better, then I'll upgrade. One last thing, as I flip through my sketchbook and come across that dip pen test page, it looks more interesting, even a doodle, scribble or scratch. Ink I conclude is fun. I'm popping off now to look for colored inks, oh yeahh!

The pen tip doesn't fit
The holders and the tip pens are ok. The only trouble I had was that the round tips almost didn't fit in the holder. Had to use some force to secure them in. Later a augered the opening but still one didn't fit. Some advice: not all types of paper are good for every tip.Overall, satisfied with purchase.

Great value and lovely nibs to write with
This is a lovely set at a very reasonable price. I am a total novice and I love the Hunt 101 nibs (only my technique occasionally lets them down). These nibs are very sharp and are supposed to be! They need a very light touch on the upstroke or they will snag and you will end up with ink splats on your work. But with practice you will get better.I would not recommend these nibs for an absolute beginner as most will be a little too heavy handed to get the best from them. Having said that if you treat with a very light touch, there is no reason why you can't use them as a beginner. I would recommend this set anyway for beginners as you get the oblique nib holder included, into which you can put more beginner friendly 'G' nibs in, and when you are more used to using nibs you will have the 101's to try out.
