Real castor oil. When you open it it doesn't smell like it but once you shake it up the smell starts to come through. Was frightened at first cause thought it wasn't real castor oil.

Can you please make this product available again?? This is the best JB castor oil that I have used and purchased hands down. It’s thick and has a dark color. I love the large size bottle for price that I paid. I don’t mind the ashy smell at all. I use this for my hair and brows. I do not use for my lashes because the mixture is very “ashy” and makes my eyes feel as if I have debris in them. I saw immediate results after getting a bad threading job on my brows. My brows had been stagnate in growing back and I saw immediate growth after first use. I also feel like I saw hair growth and it was very moisturing and protective to my hair. I would like to see a pump dispenser added in the future to make dispensing more convenient. Will definitely be purchasing again if they restock this item.

I got tired of buying the small bottles of the pre made Jamaican black castor oil mixtures and decided to buy the product outright in a large bottle and use it for my own mixture! It is excellent for growing thinning African American edges and eyebrows like I have heard others stated. Also, great for thickening the entire hair if it is mixed with carrier oils and essential oils. I think the stronger smell of a hair product, the better it is for hair growth and thickening. Only a small amount is needed to apply to the hair since it is very strong, in my opinion. Caveat: I would not recommend applying it on sensitive skin. It burned my skin whether I mixed it with another carrier oil or used a small amount of it undiluted. Therefore, I will just stick with using it for my hair only.

Don't be scared of the smell. I find the scent mild, earthy and slightly smokey, but not nearly as offensive as some describe. I mix it with a bit of tea tree oil and don't even notice the JBCO scent when applying.I had never heard of JBCO until I started looking for ways of coaxing my beard to fill in a bit thicker. I still know very little about the effectiveness for beard growth, but I've looked at several products, and purchased three. beauty products come with a higher premium, but this 16oz bottle is hands down the best value I've seen. the Oil is thick, has an even, dark color to it, and seems to be absorbing into my hair better than the other two types tested, which tended to rub off.

Although this product is good, the size of the bottle is good for the price, however there is one thing that i did not like about this product, is the fact that it is smelling of smoke, and have to mix it with another sweet smelling oil in order to put it on your skin or your hair if you are going out,
