Wonderfully restored!
This has been every bit what the seller promised. My son really enjoys older artifacts and loves using this typewriter!

Don’t trust this seller
I purchased a typewriter for my granddaughter and was unable to set it up until last night due to illness. When I open my product, it had been used and has no working functions! The products case was dented and the only product info was a piece of paper with Chinese writing on one side and typing with red ink on the other. I offered to send a picture to the seller but they didn’t want one. They said that they reached out to the manufacture and that they were unwilling to send me another one as the 90 day return window had closed. I told the seller that I could provide medical documentation showing that I had been ill and she said that they wouldn’t Be necessary. I also told her I could send her a picture as you could tell it is not for three months where in tear because I could show the damage she also told me no that wouldn’t be needed. Within 10 minutes I got a response from her stating that there was nothing they could do. I was sold an item that was $149 for my eight-year-old granddaughter for Christmas all I wanted was a working typewriter I didn’t ask for cashback I just wanted another working new typewriter but be necessary. Grandsons request
Well built with nice case but keys are hard to press and letters are crooked printed on keys. However my 10yr old grandson loves it and doesn’t want to return it. I would of preferred getting a electric one because of sticky keys on manual.

Old School Lady
I know there is an abundance of “help” in new technology. Some of it works for me, some not so good!😩. Fed up with my old lap top ( it was hooked up to printer) Great! But when the LP decided to give up the ghost, that was first problem. Then, my classroom of adult women, a few not having email, decided to get a familiar old manual ROYAL that does the job just fine. Type one copy, run it through the printer, add a postage stamp, goes on its way to recipient just fine! The machine itself is beautiful and does the job.

In love
I bought this as a birthday gift for my sister, she's in love with it! It comes with a case, it's not electric it's not super loud it looks sleek and nice, it came with ink but I got extra, the universal spools are exactly what this machine uses, it took a minute to figure out, the 'user manual' is not a user Manuel, it only tells you the parts of the machine, but we managed to figure it out. She's writing again! Thanks much, also IT GOT HERE A WEEK EARLY which was perfect timing for her birthday, saved the day on that one!

It works but is made cheaply
This typewriter (Royal Epoch) works fine. I read the manual first to get acquainted with it and put it through its paces. The margins, tabs, bell, carriage return, spacing, etc., all work fine. I just don't really care for the feel of this particular model. It is mostly cheap plastic and feels like a toy. The depression of the keys is deeper than I'm used to on a manual typewriter, which slows down my speed considerably. I purchased this as a warehouse return and got a fair price for it (under $90), otherwise I'd return it.

the line spacing is hit and miss at best, no matter what your setting (single
Almost nothing about this machine works as it should.I use typewriters regularly, so the keystroke challenges mentioned by other reviewers are not an issue for me, but sadly, everything else about this model is a serious problem. It types unevenly (as in, individual characters stagger up and down slightly within a line as you type). It leaves ink smudges on the paper. The margin bell rings only perhaps one-third of the time, and is half-hearted when it does. The carriage return arm slips out of position constantly, and demands a precise return action on your part to keep it in place. And if you are lucky enough to return the carriage into its starting position without issue, the line spacing is hit and miss at best, no matter what your setting (single, 1.5, double, etc). The shell is cheap plastic, which makes the machine feel and sound and look more like a toy typewriter you'd buy for a child. In short, it offers not only a joyless experience, one could call it an anti-joyful experience, as though it is actively trying to destroy the life and pleasure that typewriting on a good machine can (and usually does) offer. Don't waste your time here. Go find your local typewriter shop (most cities I've been to have had at least one) and find yourself a good refurbished vintage machine that feels good and works well. It'll likely cost less, using it will be a fantastic experience, and it will outlive your children.

Poorly made and over priced
Typewriter keys do not strike regularly, the return handle does not maintain position, and the handle ripped through one end of its slot on the case the first time I picked it up. Not at all worth the $200.00
