Perfect HVAC Replacement Part
This capacitor was exactly what I needed to get my AC back up and running. It matched the specs perfectly and installed in minutes. My unit started right up and has been running smoothly ever since. If you're even moderately handy, this is an easy and affordable fix.

Good to have a spare on hand and will save you a lot. Well worth having a spare.
Second purchase and having a spare one of these for your AC is an inexpensive nice to have. These go bad and always when it is 95* outside. Really easy to replace. Typically your compressor will try to start, you should hear the contractors click, but it does not have enough juice to crank up. The capacitor usually will swell on the top of bottom, typically flat, and that is the easy way to tell if they are bad. You must drain the stored energy from the capacitor (holding the plastic end only if a screwdriver you touch the contacts on the capacitor together, crossing all of them) before removing the connections. Also take a picture as the capacitor has specific connections that must be replicated exactly as each of the three terminals have source and target plugs. Other than that it is a simple repair and I have replaced two over the life of my ac.Second year of a new home I had the inside blower capacitor go bad. Repair guy (last time I called for this type of repair) suggested I replace the blower motor, I declined. That same blower motor is still running 14 years later.

Works but doesn’t last.
Easy instal and it worked but only for 1.5 years. I have gone through 3 of these in 5 years. I am switching to another brand as my backup to see if it will last any longer.

Carrier suck in Houston Texas
My Carrier brand AC 1st time break down within 1 year, the carrier Houston contractor (can't remember the company name) want to charge me $250, I have a argument with the service guy and he call back to office and lower it to $150. Come on, it under warranty. My water heater service company ARS never charge me a penny because heater under warranty. Up said with Carrier. come back to the capacitor, it good I replace them and running good, forget about the stupid Carrier.

Saved A Bunch Of Money
This was an easy fix for my central AC failure. My AC guy made this recommendation because a bad capacitor is the most frequent part to fail and this same part would be over $100 if he put it in. Very simple to install. Cut power to your AC. Remove AC covers. Take a pic of installed capacitor as backup. Loosen or remove capacitor holding strap. Do not remove any wires. Remove and install wires one at a time in the corresponding location on the new capacitor. Reinstall capacitor with holding strap.

Perfect replacement for the same part number used in my Carrier 4 ton AC.
Perfect replacement for the same part number used in my Carrier 4 ton AC. Photos are of old capacitor, note the bulging top.The outdoor compressor and fan wouldn't start in my 7 year old Carrier 4 ton AC. I checked the capacitor and the top was bulging which is a sure sign of failure. I turned off all the power, replaced this capacitor in about 10 minutes and now the AC is working perfectly again. Had the same thing happen last year to our 3 ton unit, so I guess a 6-7 year capacitor life span is typical.Highly recommend this Genteq replacement as it's the same brand and part number as originally used by Carrier.
