Excellent, Excellent Peeler!
I had a potato peeler that had been handed down to me by my great aunt. I loved that peeler and it worked extremely well. However, somehow, I managed to accidentally throw it out. When I realized what I had done, I was most upset (staggering around in shock, more like) both for sentimental and practical reasons - I was going to have to use a paring knife and probably slice myself instead. Thus began the quest for the perfect replacement. As of this moment, I now own 6 peelers. This Rada Cutlery Deluxe Vegetable Peeler, however, is going to be the one I use for now on. It is the perfect replacement to the one I lost.I have a large hand and this fits my hand well. The shape is comfortable and the feel is sturdy, not heavy. Many of the plastic peelers out there have a plastic arch over the peeling blade which both blocks the view of the blade and tends to catch up the peels; that doesn't happen with this peeler. The sight-line is clear. The tip of the peeler is strong and sharp enough to do pinpoint removals of bad bits of potato. I normally tend, when peeling potatoes, to pull the peeler toward me, but with this peeler I tried the opposite, slicing away from me. Peeling potatoes and carrots went extremely fast that way. What I also liked was that the peels were thin, not a lot of vegetable was wasted when peeling; some of those other peelers I tried out made way too thick peel slices and I could hear the voice of my grandmother in my mind chiding me for wasting food - lol.So I would say, if you need a vegetable peeler - BUY THIS ONE!If you already have a vegetable peeler - BUY THIS ONE!Any device that removes the "chore" aspect of peeling 10 pounds of potatoes at one sitting is a device worth owning. =)

The only peeler you’ll ever need
This peeler is phenomenal in taking off the thinnest peel possible. Very easy to grip and use. Actually a joy! After doing a lot of research I bought my first one 3 years ago and somehow it’s gone missing. So my replacement is on its way. Will never switch to another brand and if you have someone who likes to cook, please buy this as a gift for them.

A well-built, sharp and durable kitchen tool
I never thought I would write a review of a vegetable peeler, but dammit this thing impressed me.The aluminum grip is rough and easy to hold without slipping, and is welded seemlessly to the blade/holder assembly. The blade is so sharp that it took me a while to get used to it, I am so used to dull, cheap peelers. On top of all this, the bevel of the blade is so slight that it peels VERY thin strips of vegetable skin. Ever peel a potato and feel like half of the damn thing was whittled off onto the countertop to be tossed out with the kitchen scraps? Not with this sucker! It shaves off only the undesirable stuff and leaves the edible stuff intact. After going through so many cheap plastic-handled, chrome played junk peelers for years, I expect to be using this thing for decades to come. It's a masterpiece!

Good little peeler
This is a good, sharp peeler. It peeled the butternut squash I tested it on pretty well. My kids also tested it on the carrots and parsnips they peeled for me. We usually use the Zyliss and IKEA peelers and they preferred those peelers when working on the carrots and parsnips, but still thought it was a good peeler. In our house, it’s the IKEA peelers that the kids fight over. This one will get used, but probably not as often as the IKEA and Zyliss ones. Though I think this one may have been better for the butternut squash than those peelers, but I didn’t get a chance to test it head to head because the kids had confiscated it for their peeling test.

Winning Peeler
Due to the fact that my roommate owned it and I used it extensively, I had previously given a good review to a green Zyliss peeler. While my opinion on that one stands, due to its greatly effective blade, it is simply a fact that this peeler is slightly better. The thing that causes this one to edge out the competition is its lack of a blade guard. The guard is a generally useless feature, since you can still cut yourself with those types of peelers if you are not careful, and as far as supporting the blade, it only need to be a slightly thicker bit of steel to support itself, unless you are peeling rocks or using the blade as a prybar - not recommended by OSHA.The advantage of NOT having the blade guard, however, is a better view of your "workpiece," (to use machinist's terms), which will generally be some edible bit...no, wait...will ALWAYS be some edible bit, again unless you are peeling rocks. Though for stone soup, this might be...Sorry. Anyways, in addition to giving a better view of the food you are peeling, the lack of a blade guard means peelings won't get stuck in the space between the blade and guard, then requiring you to whack the peeler on the edge of your trash can or sink or whatever. In addition, the all-metal finish is classy and tends to complement any household, unless you live on the set of Blue's Clues. One thing that mildly bothered me about the peeler was the "careless" finish on the handle. The brushed aspect of the aluminum is nice, but it had some casting marks which in my opinion should have been removed by some appropriate treatment, to give a more finished quality to the product. This almost reminded me of some kind of rugged homemade attempt, rather than a mass-market item. You'll notice that on "lesser" peelers such as I described above, the injection molded plastic is smooth and free of parting lines and flashing.Other than the rough and manly handle texture, however, there are no flaws with this peeler, unless you are getting paid by the hour to peel vegetables, in which case this thing will probably run you into the poorhouse.Since it's pretty dang cheap, just buy the peeler already.
