Pataks Mild Curry Paste 10 Oz

I have tried a few others as it not always easy to find this brand, and this one is far better tasting. I usually add coconut cream and a touch of agave for a Thai flavor profile and use it on veggies, beans and chicken; alone or in a stew.

This is a staple in my household. Fantastic spice flavor. We've developed our own recipe with it over the years and its greatbrown 1 chopped onion in a panadd a couple cloves of chopped garlicadd about a 2 tsps of micro-grated fresh gingeradd a couple of chicken breasts cut in to 1" chunks (or an equal amount of cut up chicken thighs which I think is better)cook for a couple minsadd a medium can of crushed tomatoesadd a couple cups of chicken stocksimmer till cooked and liquid is reduced to a nice thick curry consistency

This is my favorite curry paste that I have used for years. It was very difficult to obtain here as , sadly, the store where I used to buy it closed , and the regular markets did not seem to carry it anymore, but was happy to find it on amazon! I just wanted to say that it was packed very well, with bubble wrap in a nice size box, and it arrived in perfect condition! (yay!) I was worried about ordering on line, but it arrived just fine! If you are a fan of Indian food, but are unsure of the spices, this can be very helpful to create a delicious dish. I often use this as a spice base and add some other fresh spices like Garlic, Ginger, fresh coriander... If you have never tried it, you might be pleasantly surprised. Recommend!

Unfortunately one jar had the safety seal broken. It leaked out during transport. Grateful the jar itself was not broken. Shop made the effort to bubble wrap the jars. I would encourage them to add more bubble wrap or the aid pocketed stuff to both side of the box enveloping the jar would be better. I used this mild curry paste when my kids were teens. We all loved it. I’m going to add more veggies this time with ground ham be for what I refer to as Kerman Matar. I’m not sure what it is called but it looked and taste like Keenan Matar from our favorite Indian restaurant.

Very tasty and gives Indian food that yummy flavor. You only need a small amount and can be added to soups or vegetable dishes.

This is my go-to curry paste. It has excellent flavor, but not too much heat for me. I can always add more heat, but can't remove it.

I first found this paste at a Stop n Shop somewhere in New England, and, after exploring with different currys, I really wanted to try and bring that taste to my kitchen and make it myself.This paste helped me do just that, complete with a recipe to guide me on the jar itself. Only using the mild curry so not to overwhelm myself, the flavors were still superb and complex, which is exactly what I would expect from any decent Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, I cannot find this jar in any local stores where I live (I was only visiting RI) I decided to check Amazon, and I was very pleased to see it had my favorite curry paste. It was also excellently wrapped and protected in the box it shipped in.

I love this curry paste. Very versatile and easy to use. This is delicious used as a marinade with a fresh lemon squeezed in and a little water added. I marinate chicken, lamb, veggies, even fish. I also sautee onions, mushrooms, and garlic in a skillet, add a couple heaping tablespoons of curry paste, a little crushed tomato, some garbanzo beans, cubed potatoes, and some veggie stock and let simmer until potatoes are tender and stock has reduced to a thick sauce. Stir in frozen baby peas and serve over basmati rice. I am no expert on Indian cooking but this curry paste makes it easy to produce some great tasting dishes. Even more impressive I was emailed by the owner of the company letting me know if I have any problem with my purchase to contact him directly. Evidently this is a small company of about 40 people so you can support a small company on top of getting a great product and great customer service.
