An excellent DVD/BluRay deck!
This is an extremely small unit. I don't know if that's a plus or not. Operation is extremely easy. It delivers excellent video and audio, and it operates very reliably. The menus are easy to understand. I'm very happy with this DVD/BluRay player. It doesn't really say much about it in the ad copy, but this is a "smart device". If you don't already have a smart TV, this device gives you pretty much everything you could ask from a smart device. All you need is an internet connection, either wired or WiFi. It operates seamlessly. If you don't have a smart TV, this device adds smart functionality to your audio video system. It comes pre-configured with a set of apps for popular content sources. You can search for and add any app you want. I already have multiple smart devices, so this didn't add anything for my situation, but it will bring any old hardware into the 21st century if you don't already have smart devices.I "cut the cord" many years ago. This device gives you access to a multitude of streaming services if you don't have that ability now. You have access to a wide variety of apps and content sources through this little unit. This is a very well made unit. It has performed flawlessly for me. I highly recommend it!

Sony, King of the Dumb Features
First, this product worked as advertised. It plays all regions of blu-ray and DVD. What I don't like about it is everything else. It is literally the biggest POS disc player I've ever owned. It has a "feature" where it shuts itself off after about 20 minutes of inactivity. There is no way to adjust this or disable it. It is unbelievably annoying.I like to use my Bluetooth headphones with this, and they disconnect every time it shuts itself off. So I have to re-pair the headphones, not to mention sit through all the garbage they put at the beginning of discs again. Also, press any button on the remote and it turns the unit on. So, accidentally hit a button, and your player is on. Does Sony really think people find it that difficult to find the power button?Worse still, it has a very difficult time recognizing a disc. This should be priority #1, like all it SHOULD do. I don't care about all the streaming crap they put on it. I can access that stuff on literally every other device I've got. My TV, dvr, Playstation, phone. Why do I need this on my Blu-ray player? So I have to eject and reinsert the disc until it recognizes it, that is, unless the player freezes. This happens a lot. So in this case, you have to unplug it, wait, and try again.Oh, if my disc player would only play a disc. Total garbage, and my final Sony.Update 7/4/19: This player now has a habit of randomly disconnecting my Bluetooth headphones. Also, yesterday it refused to pair with my headphones. I thought for certain this was a problem with the headphones, which worried me, because I actually like them (plus they were pricey). On a whim, I tried the old trick of unplugging the Sony player, waiting, and plugging it back in. Very next try, my headphones connected. Yes, it turned out the problem was, once again, with this stupid disc player.Update 10/10/19: My remote stopped working. I thought it was dead. Batteries, not the problem. I once had another Sony remote that stopped working. I threw it in the trash. Later, I read that it needed "resetting". I didn't know remotes needed to be reset. So I tried that with this one. Three different "remedies" I found online. Nothing worked. What do you do when all else fails? Unplug the freaking thing. Guess what? My remote miraculously works again. Why do I continue to use this doorstop? I don't have another region-free player, or another bluetooth-compatible one.

It Works.
It's small and compact. It hooks up easily. The player is easy to use. Just press a button on the remote to pick which region you want and it will turn on the player and be ready to go. Don't forget to pick region 1st while player is off. Simple. I'm loving it. My only problem, which is personal ,is that the remote also turns on my other Sony player I already had. So both players are trying to work at same time. Since this one works on all regions I think I can move my old player to my other 3d TV. Anyway the price is steep but it does the job of Region hopping very well. So far so good.

Deceptive Seller Listing of SONY BDP-S6700 As a multi-region Blu-Ray Player
The seller falsely claimed the SONY BDP-S6700 was a multi-region Blu-Ray player. The label on the bottom of the unit clearly shows this unit only plays Region A Blu-Ray disks (for USA) and Region 1 DVDs (for USA) only. This was a waste of my time and money.

Sony is always good
I have 2 of 3 televisions are Sony as are my blu-ray players. All are passive 3D. The 3D is better on Sony. EZ set up. This is the third 6700 3D player I have owned. This one is a back up. The other two are on TVs. This one is all region and can be switched. They work excellent.

2nd one bought...Dissapointed...freeze-up issue.
I first bought this item in 2016. I had no issues with playback, connectability, regions;etc. that some people here have complained about...actually I was happy with it.In late 2020 the unit went bad. It seemed to be a power problem..it would not turn on.In January this year I decided to buy another one, since I got a good 4 years out of the previous one. This morning, after just a few uses since the time of purchase;the unit went bad with a variation of the same problem:This time instead of not turning on at all,it turns on; but all it does is display the stationary screen -saver Sony Blu-Ray logo...the tray doesn't open with the remote OR manually, and nothing happens when the keys on the remote are pressed. In addition,.there is a swirling sound coming from inside the unit,as if the mechanism is spinning;which may indicate a stuck disc....but frankly I don't remember leaving a disc inside the unit;and since the tray won't open at all,the only way to confirm a stuck disc would be to break apart the tray door.I've learned my lesson..I will not be buying another Sony BDP-S6700Buyer beware!
