Makes 10+ Mile Rides Enjoyable Again
This stem raiser successfully transformed the mountain bike of my younger years to a comfortable trekker/cruiser for this clydesdale weekend rider. After replacing my mountain tires with touring tires, I was still uncomfortable during even short rides due to the low height of my handlebars. After installing this Delta Pro Stem Raiser, my handlebars are a couple of inched higher than my seat, and I am very comfortable during 15+ mile rides. Two issues: First, it was difficult to get the proper pre-load on the headset bearings. It seemed that the long 5mm allen wrench was flexing before the bearings were acceptably pre-loaded. I removed the center bolt and applied a small amount of lithium grease to the threads of the bolt. After reinstalling the stem raiser with this bolt, I could easily get the play out of the bearings using acceptable torque on the center bolt.Second, even after applying as much torque on the pinch bolts as I dared to apply, I still had an unacceptable amount of stem slippage/rotation on the steering tube. This did not occur while riding, but it was unacceptably easy to turn the handlebars left or right while holding the tire. Even with mating surfaces clean on both the steering tube and the stem raiser, I could not eliminate the slippage. After a little research, I decided to apply a carbon fiber assembly gel to the aluminum mating surfaces between the steering tube and stem raiser before assembly. Using measurably less torque during reassembly, all slippage was eliminated. Following recommendations in previously posts, I applied a small amount of blue thread lock on the pinch bolts’ threads prior to installation to ensure the slippage does not return. The whole assembly is very secure and functional. Unlike other stem raisers, you can easily adjust the height of the stem on the Delta Pro Stem Raiser using only an allen wrench. Once the stem raiser is properly installed using the appropriate spacers on the steering tube, no spacers are needed to mount the stem to the stem raiser. The stem is easily raised or lowered on ride day according to your needs.

Looks great, works great.
I'm 6'4" and with the seat raised high enough for my legs I need to fold myself to reach the handle bars. This allows me to sit in a normal, far more comfortable position. I purchased this because I was very weary of the less expensive, very cheap looking risers that rely on disc's that slip over the verticle shaft for support. This unit is thick, strong and when your handlebars are tightened they feel very solid.

Good Quality, looks very professional
Stem raiser worked great. I am 60 old male, who just started riding again. I did not want to be all bent over the handlebars. My new bike is a hybrid Trek Verve 3 and after I discovered it had this type of Stem, I searched for a long time to find a raiser that was longer than the normal 3.5" ones that everyone has for sale. This fits the bill great. Fit perfect and only took about 5 minutes to install. Raised the bars just enough to make the fit of the bike to my liking. Be advised that if you raise the handlebars you will probably have to lengthen the cables for the brake and possibly the shifters. Mine just needed the front brake cable lengthened. I would recommend this if you want to raise your handlebars.

The stem raiser works great. Tightening screw short, need tool extensions to tighten it.
The extender worked great on my Mongoose bike. High quality product, but the stem tightening screw is a little short requiring an extension to Torx bit in order to reach the length of the tube to tighten. Once I found the tools, it was no problem installing it and getting the handle bars high enough to make the ride comfortable.

Works great... but pay attention when you install it...
This Stem Riser worked great... am very satisfied with the results... I purchased a great Road Bike in great condition at a garage sale recently but had to raise the seat be be able to ride it properly which meant I had to also raise the handle bars also... This Riser did the trick...a couple of notes however on the installation... in my case I had to raise my bars about 2" this caused me to have to lengthen all my brake and shifter cables however... this could be a big deal for some... but it was not for me... I simply purchased some cable and tube kits from Amazon (note that Brake and shifter cables and tubes are not the same) I spent maybe all of $25 for these... and installed them myself in an afternoon...understand that if your shifters and brakes working fine before... there's not a lot of adjusting one has to do when just replacing the cables and tubes... so it was an easy job...also...The spacer rings that are on your bike from your old Stem will need to be used to tighten this unit down to fit against the steering tube...using the center Bolt that comes with the Delta Pro Stem Raiser... this is very important!!!Once that is done the side bolts can be tightened down and you should not need any more extra rings... unless you just want them...the very top cap on this stem is not important it's only there to keep water and spiders out of your frame...Anyway... other than these above details this Stem really get the job done for someone needing a more upright riding position like I did...

Great stem riser!
This riser is really well manufactured. 6mm bolts secure it to the post. It’s clean looking with a lot less of the spacers you might use with another brand. When I first got it, I thought it might be too tall. The height seems about perfect for me. My last riser barely got my seat even with the bars. Yes, you need a pretty long wrench. A T shaped 5mm worked for me - the same one I use to adjust my guitar. It’s worth paying a few more bucks for a safer product. Flying over the bars because a bolt didn’t hold doesn’t sound very enjoyable to me.
