Non-aggressive sound, great quality
The media could not be loaded. SOUNDIt sounds good, I think. I installed this on my 5th gen Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro and it is ALMOST exactly what I wanted. The stock muffler was so quiet you would have thought it had a 4 cylinder engine. This muffler made the V6 sound a bit better. However, I will say that at idle you can’t really hear it. See my video, you’ll understand. For you, that might be just perfect.I say it’s ALMOST exactly what I wanted because personally, I wanted something more aggressive sounding at idle. Keep in mind I’m coming from a different truck with a very loud Flowmaster muffler and that’s what I’m used to. I think most people do not like that because it can get annoying. You really hear this Magnaflow come to life under hard acceleration (on my Toyota 4Runner) - like a freeway on-ramp, accelerating to pass someone, etc.Obviously, that’s the tough thing about buying a muffler - unless you can hear a specific muffler already installed on your same vehicle make and model, you just can’t know how it will sound until after it’s installed. Even videos online don’t capture the sound correctly (shot with a phone or incorrectly used cheap microphones) and most of those videos are stupid high speed drive-bys that don’t give you an idea of what it sounds like as you’re driving. There is a tiny bit of drone in the cab with this Magnaflow. It doesn’t bother me at all. If you don’t want to hear the muffler at all, you might reconsider why you are even shopping for an aftermarket muffler. Most aftermarket mufflers will add some nicer tones and you will probably get a little drone as a result.OTHERI needed to add a few inches of 2.5” pipe to each end to get a nice fit. That’s normal. Cost for that pipe from a muffler shop was $4.Quality is top notch, I polished it even more before install to help protect it from rust and keep the finish looking good.Box had 2 magnaflow stickers in it too. No instructions are included, it’s a muffler only, not a cat-back exhaust.FINAL THOUGHTSIf you want a muffler that sounds better than stock with very little in-cab drone, you’d probably love this muffler.I could handle more drone and would in fact switch up again if I found a muffler with that sounded a bit more aggressive at idle. But for $100 it’s a good muffler.

Next to no difference compared to stock
I have a 2000 Silverado 5.3L with an 8 ft bed. Everything is stock about it, except this muffler. If the stock muffler was a 1/10 on loudness, this is maybe a 1.5/10. It's noticeable on cold start up briefly, for the first 2 seconds, but then sounds almost identical to stock. Even under hard acceleration, it sounds about the same. I hear engine bay noise more.Maybe it's due to the 8 ft bed. If you have the long bed and want just a hair over stock, I would try the 14".5 stars because the quality was objectively good. But it is quiet.

Rolling tones on startup, smooth throughout
Picked one of these up here off Amazon and had it installed the other day on my 1993 K1500 Suburban. As noted in the title, it does give it a nice rolling tone at start up, and a mellow rumble while running.Compared to the stock muffler, it is a bit louder in the cab, but does not interfere with normal conversation.Being a "straight-through" design, I was hoping to see a more robust increase in performance, but did not notice much.I had it installed with a Flowmaster cat (Amazon item # B0085UE4RM) and I would say that acceleration is maybe a bit smoother; however, not a lot of difference overall.Build quality is excellent, nice, smooth welds. The only thing that I would improve is to give it a little more bite in the sound, maybe just a little more aggressive.

Best sounding muffler I've ever owned
I have always had Dodges and Jeeps, and have always run Flowmaster mufflers. I've had most of the different series they make, and loved the sound. But I have a 5.7 Hemi in a Jeep now and tried a Flowmaster 50 series on it, and it sounded great at idle but had a rattling sound around 1200-1500 RPM. The bad thing is when the Hemi cold starts, it stays in that RPM range for about 30 seconds. It's loud, obnoxious, and sounds like crap. I tried to put a resonator on it and that did help, but the rattling sound was still there. So I finally took everyone's advice and got this Magnaflow muffler, it's the first one I've ever owned - and I'll be buying a lot more of them. It's stainless compared to the steel Flowmaster, the welds look better, and the sound is totally different. There is no rattle at all, not at any RPM. From idle at 700 RPM to hammering it around 4000 RPM, there is no bad sound at all. It just sounds awesome the entire time. The tone is deeper and more mellow but it's still just as loud as the Flowmaster, which I'm fine with. It's hard to find words to describe the difference but I can honestly say that it is night and day difference, and everyone at work noticed immediately too. I highly recommend this muffler for Hemi trucks/Jeeps.

Ram Rebel 5gen Hemi
Ram rebel 5gen, I was looking for something close to stock but more aggressive. I tried the 14inch magnaflow first but louder than i wanted although sounded great. The 14" had more cabin drone than i liked and was pretty loud at cold start has rumble at idol. You can hear it most of the time when driving in the city. Went up in size with the 18" and was exactly what i was looking for. Has good loud rumble at cold start but quiet at idol. sounds awesome when accelerating but quiet when driving and no cabin noise at cursing speed. Its the perfect medium.
