Best work boot I've come across for my wide feet
After wearing this boot pretty regularly for about 2 weeks now I can say it's definitely a lot more comfortable than most work boots I can find. Usually I have a hard time finding my size (10 1/2 wide) and most work boots squish my toes. I have a hard time keeping my feet still during the day and I have a neurologic condition which makes my toes become fatigued and I want to bend them. In these boots I'm able to bend my toes regularly as if I were wearing a pair of shoes. I find that the steel toes are very strong, and the bottom plates keep me very well supported. I find ease and climbing ladders, standing on my toes, or simply walking. I do believe that they are decently waterproof, as I have yet to experience any kind of water leaks when standing in snow or wet material up to my ankle. I also have an issue with my feet stinking, and I have not noticed that yet with these boots. All in all I would say these are my favorite pair of boots I've purchased. The one and only thing that could make them any better, is if they came in multiple colors. I could only find two available on Amazon. And while I really do like the way they look, I would prefer them a little better if they were in a dark brown or dark gray.

Really comfortable for about 6 months... and then...
When I first got these boots, they were amazing. They were just as comfortable to wear as my dedicated hiking boots. But starting about 4 or 5 months into daily wear, I started to notice a lump forming in the sole just under my little toe in both boots. It got progressively worse and worse, until by about 6 months, these boots were too uncomfortable to wear. That lump was not there when I bought them, and by the time I replaced them, was about 1/4 inch high.I contacted Keen directly and they replaced the boots with no problem and at no cost to me, so that's a big plus.On receiving the new boots, I removed the footbed liner and compared the new boots to the old ones. Definitely no lump in the new boots. Then... being a curious idiot, I took out my medic shears and cut open the old boots (see attached photos). It turns out that there's a little pocket under the little toe, and it was full of fine sand! I walk a lot in the desert (I'm a field geologist) and during my work, fine sand had filtered down through the mesh uppers, worked its way down the side between the outer part and the goretex liner, and filled that little pocket below my toe. Once I emptied out the sand, the footbed was flat again. So there you go. These are really nice and comfortable work boots, but if you're going to be walking around in sand for most of your work day, get the Keen model with solid leather uppers instead of these with the mesh.I would give them more stars in my review if I could do it conditionally. These are amazing work boots, so much more comfortable than the ones I've used before, but after three months walking in sand dunes, they were useless. I do recommend them though if you're not working in sand, and their customer service was stellar!

Very comfortable and flexible
I was looking for a mid-length boot that would stand up to hard pavement, a lot of walking, would feel close to sneakers and not be as restricted as my SWAT combat boots (which are also great)Obviously they have better ankle support and stability compared to sneakers but feel only a bit heavier. I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot and post op complications so I need to wear custom orthotics which make them even better. If you don't have foot problems, you'd do okay with the provided insoles. As expected, these provide a lot more flexibility in the crouching position compared to my 11 hole combat boots and are a bit more breathable. I do prefer to wear my combat boots in the winter and whenever I need to pass thru tall grass or get sidetracked on the woods. The keens are perfect and beat my boots or sneakers for all other circumstances -mowing the lawn, tinkering in garage, shed or basement, crawling around in attic, and working on ladders or a roof. I also like the non slip and electrical insulation soles they provide.I actually got two pairs of keens, one waterproof and one non-waterproof. I was planning to return one but decided to keep them both. I favor the non-waterproof ones a bit more just because they feel a tad bit lighter and more flexible, but maybe that's just me. You can't go wrong with either. I'll be looking to buy another pair in the future when the time comes.

Great pair of boots!
Love these boots so far! Takes about a weeks time working in them of course to properly break them in up in the toe section and I even got the 12 wide but then perfectly snug and protective! I would suggest putting in your own insoles because the ones they come with aren’t great but everyone’s feet are different!
