I have used this same center on two different Rosaries now, and will purchase more. At first, I wasn't sure if the water would slowly evaporate or seep out, so I only purchased one. It doesn't. The glass on the back is very smooth and strong, and the water doesn't seep or evaporate. I am very pleased with this centerpiece. It is heavy, so it will not separate and let any of the precious Lourdes water seep out. That is something to consider if you are using tiny, light weight beads on your rosary. Use something a bit heavier. If you want to make sure the centerpiece is waterproof and tarnish-proof, coat it with a layer of clear nail polish (not the kind that needs UV to cure) , leaving it off the glass. I don't know if this centerpiece would ever tarnish, but I didn't take any chances :-)

I waited a few days to allow the excitement of receiving the connector piece for my niece's rosary to wear off before really taking a look at it for the sake of the review. That being said, I have noticed some things about it that I am not very happy with, but for the price, what can I really expect. I did get my hopes up for better, but that is my own fault.First off, it is metal like the description states and not a hard plastic made to look like metal. It is a cheap metal with a coating to give it the "silver" color, and it will need to be coated further to protect that color if you are lucky enough to have it arrive with no issues. Mine arrived with rough spots where the shiny coating was already flaked or chipped in a couple places. The edges of the eyelets are rolled, rough, and showing the metal underneath the coating as well. As a bonus, I expected more weight to the piece based on another review but was pleasantly surprised that it was not excessive in the weight.Secondly, I found that the "glass" in the rear had gouges in the bottom side. I tried to get that in the images, but that proved to be difficult. I really don't mean that it was scratched, either. I mean gouged. I can very much feel it under my fingertips, and it made me think that at least the "glass" appears to be thick enough to have not broken or cracked from whatever it hit. I use the quotations because I don't know if it's a durable plastic or actual glass on the back and I do not want to mislead anyone on that. I will say that the back does seem to be pretty secure.Finally, the last thing that I have to say about it is that the piece is going to require some work on my part to be able to achieve the look at feel that I am trying to achieve with her rosary. I just wanted to get an honest review on here for anyone who may be as detail oriented as I am with high hopes for this piece.

Very happy with this product. It's about 1 inches and its sturdy and feels more expensive than the cost. I made my mom a greed jade bead rosary that turned out to be beautiful if I say so myself.
