Q: Which direction to go?

They go in between the preamp and power amp. The male goes into the power ramp

Q: Why is this making my music stutter?

Not sure. All I can suggest is check cables and make sure male end of the crossover is pointing towards the source in of the amplifier. What is the amplifier powering?

Q: What low pass hz would you recommend for aura bass shakers?

They work well, one at subwoofer preamp input and another at the power amp subwoofer input, subwoofer preamp compensate the DB loss from the 50 Hz lo-pass filter.

Q: I have a powered subwoofer with a female rca jack on the back of it, do I plug the crossover with the male side into the subwoofer or to the source?

Plug a male RCA cable from your source pre-amp Into the female jack on the cross over. Then plug the male end directly into the female jack on your powered sub.
