Q: WIll this bird feeder attract large birds such as eagles and falcons?

Unlikely as eagles and falcons are carnivorous. They DO hunt other birds, but usually from the ground.

Q: is this feeder pole mountable?

No, and the squirrels can easily get to it if it’s hanging from a shepherds pole

Q: Can this feeder be used for thistle seed?

I don’t know specifically about thistle seed but it works great for other small seeds. You can return it if it doesn’t work

Q: What happened? I had some birds the first few days, but nothing sense. The feeder is 3/4 full, nothing is eating the seed. It seemed to work at first?

the pegs on this feeder are 1 inch. On my other feeders they're at least 1` 1/2 inches long. I replaced the feeding holes and pegs with ones from a broken feeder I had and now the feeder works just fine. Peg length matters. Hope this helps.
