I was concerned about this being just a cheap, generic thermos, but it works really well. I've used it for hot coffee and tea, as well as ice cream. It's able to keep stuff piping hot or super cold for hours with very little loss in temperature (the loss comes out at the place the cap screws on, so be sure to tighten it really hard). It's also very packable and durable. The only thing I have a problem with is cleaning the steam release button mechanism--since it's watertight, it doesn't dry on its own and you have to wedge a piece of tissue or something on the bottom (in-facing side) of the assembly to absorb the rinse water after washing. It also holds smells there since you can't scrub it through, so I'm planning on using baking soda as an odor absorber. It's a totally manageable problem, though, and I do appreciate being able to release the pressure to get the lid unscrewed, so it's okay. Would recommend.

I've spent so much money on other thermos' that don't even keep my food even remotely close to slightly warm. This thermos is the first one I've had that actually works like how I had hoped, my food stays warm well into 8 hours of it being in the thermos. With all those extra layers, even during the summer my food doesn't spoil or go bad at all in this thermos, despite it being left in a car for 5 hours. I work outside as a landscaper and generally used to buy lunch out when I worked so, I could eat something warm during these chilly autumn days, and those extremely cold all nighters shoveling snow. This thermos fits a reasonable portion and that keeps me well fed during a cold all nighter, with the only thing I want being a something warm to warm myself up. Thanks to all those extra layers and double caps it has I can even pour in hot soup and have it not cool down for hours or spill at all something all other thermos I've tried have failed to do. My great experiences with this thermos have led to me telling my co workers and family members, even those who don't endure the harsh outside weather to work, to buy this thermos so they can enjoy a warm homemade meal even at work, or outside during the winter. Definitely recommend this thermos to anyone regardless of where you work or who your are this is one of the best thermos' you'll ever find.

It's got a wide mouth for easy filling, the top unscrews to become a bowl, and most importantly, it keeps hot chili hot all day. Also, it's worth mentioning that some people have reported "exploding thermos syndrome" on other models due to pressure buildup. This unit solves that problem with a push-button pressure relief valve on the inner lid.I recommend priming it with hot water (doesn't have to be boiling) and then heating up your food while the thermos sits absorbing the water's heat. Once your food is at your desired temperature, empty the water from the thermos and pop the food in. This thermos holds more than you'd think at first and you're not likely to want for portion size.Cleanup is simple - it's not dishwasher-safe, but the wide opening makes it easy to fit a sponge or brush inside, and the stainless steel is easy to wash out.Honestly I wish I had known about, and purchased, this product years ago. It would have made meal-prep and bringing homemade lunches to work a breeze.

I left an earlier, more lukewarm, review that I'm not seeing. wanted to update. I was initially disappointed in the size/capacity but that's my fault not the product. Having used it a lot now, it keeps soups/food hot for a long time. good quality material. my only grouse is with the the inner lid: hard to clean and the seal absorbs food odors which is hard to get out in washing. also the colour is not the more silvery pink tone of the photo but it is a true rose gold and very classy attractive looking. it can be a tad hard to grip when washing, understandably. it fell onto my floor tiles and dented slightly, within a few days of purchase, which is a shame. but overall it was a good purchase

Holds up very well with heated items and holds a lot. I did get a defective one but I'm buying it again, it was worth it.I was concerned about cleaning the lid and the possible growth of mold in the lid. Luckily due to my defective button, I could see that mold growth is not a large problem. I highly recommend it.

I bought this insolated food container for my 17-year-old son (who has a big appetite) to take hot food to school. I wanted the biggest thermos I could find that had great reviews without being super expensive. He loves it! Last week, he took such a big amount of pasta that he couldn't eat it all, so when we opened it that evening to clean it out for the next day, it was still warm! We put the hot food in around 6:30 am and it was still warm at 5:30 pm! 11 hours! We always pour boiling water in it in the morning, put the lid on, and let it sit there for 4-5 minutes while we heat up the food to put in. Right before adding the food, we dump out the boing water, so the container stays really hot. I love the wide-mouth too, because it is very easy to clean. He even took a few leftover pizza slices in it one day! We laid each pizza piece on a sheet of foil, then carefully rolled them up loosely and put them in. At lunch, he just carefully unrolled them. He said everyone was jealous! Great product for the price!

Great size, nice wide mouth so stews and soups means fit easily.I have found even when preheating it, 5 hours tops to stay warm. Not hot.
