Works Instantly!
I needed something for my over 100 lb Rottweiler. He is a very bad puller. I can't take him for walks at all. Once he pulled me down because a work person was at my house. He was able to pull me to the ground. I had tried various harnesses and leashes. None helped. I did not want to try a prong collar as I had an unfortunate accident with prongs on an E-collar. I had used a gentle leader before but it kept slipping off his muzzle. I did some research and came upon this Head Halti. I loved that it can attach to his collar in case it comes off. The day it arrived, I put it on him and attached to his collar. I bought a brand new double ended leash for his as well. Let me tell you, I was able to walk him and not get pulled around. My husband was with me just in case. I also had another leash on him just to be on the safe side. He didn't like the Head Halti at first. He did try to get it off. I felt so empowered being able to actually enjoy taking my big boy on a walk. I love that the muzzle has a pad on it. I got the size 4 for him and it is a good fit. My husband doesn't use it for him, but I do. He will sit and let me put it on him. Once, he was able to take it off, but it was attached to his collar! So I didn't have to run around chasing him. I love this Head Halti! I wish I would have gotten it sooner. I had in fact messaged a woman on the internet to get a prong collar in case this didn't work. Once I saw that it worked, I message her quickly cancelling the sale!! If you have a puller, get this collar!

Over 20 Years Later, and I still absolutely ADORE the Halti!!!
I don't get why this product has such a high return rate, unless people may have gotten the wrong measurements for their doggo. But oh my goodness, it's still as amazing as when we were first introduced to it in 2001!Back then, we had a 100 lbs Labrador mix who was crossed with all kinds of ornery, and even after obedience classes and all kinds of training, he would pull so hard he'd regularly yank me down to the ground, break free from my grip, and take off for adventures around our neighborhood (namely running to the nearby cow pasture to roll in cow patties. Which really stunk. Washing cow poo out of dog fur outside on a cold autumn afternoon is not fun, would not recommend).I'm not exaggerating at all when I say the halti collar saved my dog from being dropped off at the shelter, because my parents were just about fed up with the stubborn boy. But then our vet recommended trying the halti collar. And man, was it a game changer! All of a sudden, we could easily walk him! There was no more tugging, pulling, or knocking us to the ground. We could actually get him to heel. And, with positive reinforcement, he grew to love it, even running up to us to put his muzzle inside the halti because he knew it meant we were going out on another delightful walk! And here I am now, over 20 years later, finally ordering my second halti collar as my last one sadly bit the dust, and it's just as good as all those years ago! My Caucasian Shepherd/Pyrenees cross is doing great with it, and I'm so grateful to be able to be able to experience the wonderful joy of using a halti with a large dog all over again! I love how they've improved the design, with extra padding in the halter around the nose area, as well as the fabulous added safety strap to help prevent the halter from slipping off the muzzle! It also has added reflective material which my old one did not have. And, after just a couple of positive training sessions, I'm already noticing a difference in his tugging, and I'm controlling him with a lot more ease.If you have a big dog or a hard to manage dog to walk, I absolutely encourage you to get the halti! It has been a favorite dog walking collar of mine for over 2 decades, and I plan on continuing to use it in the years to come. Definitely recommend!

Best Head Halter We’ve Used
I originally bought the gentle leader as I was under the impression that was the most affordable option to help with my puppy’s need to pull. Not only did this one end up costing less, it is so much more durable and comfortable for my puppy. The gentle leader was a mess trying to adjust and even when I thought I had it perfectly on my puppy’s head per the directions, it seemed too tight and he was constantly tugging at it. We would be mid walk and he’d flop himself in the grass trying to rub it off his nose. This went on for two weeks before he managed to break the clasp that helps adjust the nose strap.Enter the Halti. I had to do the proper measurements of course but the many different sizes that are offered is exactly what I needed so I didn’t mind taking that extra step. My puppy is a jack russel terrier mix so we went with Size 1. He’s already adjusting much better to this one, he’ll paw at it at first, possibly out of confusion but after we get going on our walks he barely notices it. Not to mention this one fits him much more comfortably. With the gentle leader we would adjust per the instructions and it looked tight on him. Yet even then he would slip the nose loop. I’m loving how much more advanced this one is in comparison and will recommend it to anyone needing help with a puller.P.S. it does work incredibly well at correcting that tugging behavior. Another tip I would recommend is trying to keep your dog behind or next to you while you get them used to this device. As I understand it, part of the reason dogs/puppies pull while on their leash is in part the leadership dynamic between owner and dog. Letting them walk ahead of you is signaling to them that they are the pack leader and so everyone else has to follow. A good way for them to understand that you’re the one leading and calling the shots is to walk ahead or next to them while you continue to steer and correct which even means walking through doorways and all that.Hope this helps!
