Q: By convention which is the bottle side and which the applicance side?

The quick release valve (female) goes on the bottle/supply side and the spigot (male) goes on the appliance/demand side. This ensures the bottle is never left attached to an open ended hose because the valve closes automatically when disconnected.

Q: Will this fit my truma caravan quick release gas connection

In my opinion it would be fine. I used to make an extension for a gas cylinder to a gas burner and that seemed fine.

Q: will these work with the cadac version of the same thing

I didn’t connect them directly onto my cadac but I used them to connect the pipe to my motorhome gas point. I also used them to make an extension section of pipe in case I wanted to use the cadac further away from gas point.

Q: Can you buy a female part individually? (I’ve already purchased this)

I got these parts in a pack and individually over but that was over 18 months ago . But I think you still could get each peace ,
