It Works!
These things are all cheaply made and all in the past have had one problem - when you unlock them the lock mechanism hags a little…. Just enough and just often enough to mess up the process. I’ve had more than one crushed egg. This one works - the lock/unlock switch stays in place and never interferes with the “pricking” process. This is a good one.

Stops eggs from boiling out of cracks.
Love that this stops eggs from boiling out their contents if they crack. I guess the little hole in the air sac at the rounded end of the egg releases pressure build up that forces egg content out of cracks. I have boiled egg for breakfast every day and boil them straight from the fridge , cold water, bring to boil time then for 4 minutes. No leakage although eggs still crack on occasion

works for Delia's method
like: most eggs boil up no problemdislike: today's egg leaked into the waterI've taken to using the Delia Smith method (uses less gas)

good enough
It does the job, cheaply made but there are no other alternatives.

Brilliant egg piercer
The lock function saves your fingers in a busy kitchen drawer, and works faultlessly.I’ve been after one of these for a while and so much more effective than my old skewer method!

Egg pricker
I have often used egg prickers in the past as I feel it helps prevent a boiling egg cracking in the pot whilst cooking. I bought an extra one as a gift for my auntie.

The perfect boiled egg?
Been on the look out for this since seeing something on 'this morning '. It's supposed to give you the perfect soft or hard boiled egg by pricking the bottom so that the egg doesn't crack or split. Shouldn't need this really but gave it a shot. Not yet managed a perfect soft boiled egg but close, tend to boil for 5min. Do 4 mins and leave it while you make toast and it should be good. Very easy to use and wash. Has a lock for the pin too
