These socks seemed ridiculous to me but I thought I would try because my YakTraks are hard to put on and off. So received these and I have to say pretty amazing. Not something I would wear full-time but when you keep in the car and get somewhere that has too much ice to walk, slip these on. Fast to get on and off,

This product looks like it would never work but man do they work great. My only issue is that they get wet but do not come with a bag. I use a ziplock in my pocket when I go into stores. I feel so much better walking into this icy winter now. Buy them. Great item to prevent dangerous falls.

Here is the Smokey Mountain we can get rain turning into snow and ice very quickly when the temp drops. These are great to slip on your shoes and get a quick grip when you need it. We keep a set in our car glove compartment. We are going to buy a second pair for home. Very easy to slip on and also easy to store until it is needed. I got these for the inevitable ice and snow here in Minnesota. I am on a farm, and often need to walk to our outbuildings or the mailbox, regardless of the weather. Putting on ice cleats is a pain; takes time to get them on so they don't slip off while walking. I can slip these babies on easily, quickly, and be out the door in a minute instead of several. And they don't slip off. They work on my hiking shoes, sneakers, mud boots, and even my Crocs--which I wear indoors daily (they even cover the holes).They are not recommended for wearing indoors (slippery on flooring) and it appears they are not for long treks along hiking trails, but for traction on driveways and sidewalks, they are great. When I walk to our greenhouse in the winter to check on my chickens, I can wear them inside on the concrete floor much more comfortably than spikes or wire coils and I don't have to walk on my heels. I am not keen on wearing them in the coop, though, as I'm sure the inevitable chicken poo would be difficult to remove but since I can take them off as easily as I put them on, it's a simple matter of removing them, caring for the birds, and then slipping them back on.A good value for certain weather conditions, but not all icy weather. Not sure how well they will work on smooth ice, especially on an incline. They appear to be best for those in-between season days when surfaces are kinda slick but not ice rink conditions. They do not replace ice cleats for those situations, but for some icy weather they can be a great alternative to ice cleats.

So I got these based on other reviews and wanted to try them because I am always looking to bring less items on my winter snow trips. I honestly hate to have to keep changing my shoes when I go from my truck camper into my sister's house. And the distance is not far but can be extremely slippery because of the wet snow. And even though these shoe socks look hideous they seem to work well. I am a size 8 in women so I ordered a size medium. It's just a tad big if I'm just wearing regular shoes or boots. But to be fair, they would fit well on my snow boots - which is what I was trying to avoid having to wear for such a short distance. So I should have gotten a size small to have a perfect fit for my regular shoes. But I'll make it work.

Although it worked as described within less than one hour wear time in the snow and ice there were already holes in my goat sock. Not well made. Returning for a refund
