Hard to use, use on softer woods, makes your hand hurt.
Hard to use, use on softer woods, makes your hand hurt. I've been waiting on a project to be able to review these and when I requested them in exchange for a Vine review I had a project in mind. That project was completed before these came in although they didn't take an awful long time to arrive. They are a great size for use. Fit my hand well, however when using them it was increasingly difficult and was painful to have to use so much pressure to cut the wood. I was cutting a skinny wooden dowel at that. Now, I'm no muscular Mimi but I'm still no weakling Wilhamena neither. It just didn't seem to produce the pressure needed in the right spot to be able to properly do the job. I also did not receive the 2 additional blades as advertised.

Helps with wainscoting and crown molding.
I watched a video of a DIY-er of wainscoting and crown molding and she used this to cut her trim. It looked so blasted easy that I got one to try it out and I literally giggled it was that easy. Cut quality is excellent. Fits my hand great. Made short work of everything. Wish I had one in my 20s!!SPECIAL NOTE: As an approved Amazon Vine member with Gold status, I am trusted to select items for review (sometimes from a list of almost 130,000 options). Many of these items are new to the market, or a seller simply wants some additional exposure for their product. I am NOT required to review every item in exchange for receiving and trying it out. I only order products that are important to me (ones I know I have an interest in and will use), and always strive to provide an honest evaluation of my experience. I do not automatically give a 4- or 5-star review, because the community of Amazon purchasers deserve to know real thoughts and experiences. So, my reviews are always and only based on my use and testing of the product. In that you can trust 100%. It's also important to note that I pay almost 30% in federal income taxes for each item that I receive, whether I review it or not.

It works but takes intense hand strength.
The media could not be loaded. I got these Miter Shears to cut vinyl quarter round trim for my bathroom. After reading other reviews I began to wonder what these shears would be able to cut. So, I tested the shears with three different types of trim with various shapes, densities and thicknesses: composite wood quarter round trim, a thin strip of real wood and a much thicker composite wood baseboard trim. They were able to cut all of them with varying levels of ease and cleanness. The real wood was a fairly soft and thin piece, the was cut clean, but it was not easy. The composite quarter round was the easiest and the cut was clean. The composite baseboard was the widest and thickest piece and it was very difficult to cut. It took me two attempts to cut the baseboard trim and the cut ended up with some fraying and peeling. These shears could be used in a pinch for the cutting the baseboard but a saw would be needed for a project with more than one or two cuts. I would feel comfortable using these for a few pieces of composite quarter round, thin soft wood trims and thin wooden shims but not for many cuts, there are better tools for that. I feel comfortable using these shears for cutting the vinyl trim for the whole bathroom project when it arrives. The shears are very adjustable. They have useful angle guides and really can cut a variety of materials. Replacement blades were included with the shears. I plan to use these for quick projects with either soft materials or few cuts. I will basically reach for these when I don't want to bother with setting up a saw. They are pretty sticky when closing, they don't really bounce back open on their own. The user has to pry them back open after a cut, which feels a bit inconvenient. Cutting harder material with these isn't easy. I believe there could be a design to better leverage the force exerted by the user when cutting, or maybe beefier or sharper blades would help, but these shears operate on brute force and grip strength. I have pretty strong hands, but this did hurt hand and my wrist to use them on the composites and wood trims. With all of this said, I will use them again and do recommend them as a tool to use for an emergency cut here and there. I think they would work great on softer materials and am I excited at the ease of not having to figure out the angles of my vinyl trim cuts.
