Fine coffee
I am not sure I would call this coffee "liquid gold" like the packaging says but it certainly isn't bad. It's a darker medium roast and has a nutty flavor. For $8 at the time of this review, this isn't a bad option. It was very fresh and aromatic so that is always nice to have freshly ground coffee, rather than something ground years before as sold in the store. It is a good option, but it is not anything special - it's coffee.

Good flavor, small bag, high cost!
Liquid Gold Coffee from Costa Rica Medium Roast Ground ReviewHere's the thing. . .I am relatively new to coffee. I am in my 70s and have only been drinking it for about 10 years. I am by no means a connoisseur of coffee. I like a medium roast and buy whatever is on sale at my grocery store. I make one cup a day to enjoy after breakfast and that's it. And if I forget one day, no biggie.I liked the flavor of this coffee just fine. However, I simply lack the knowledge base that makes this brand, this roast, the ground size and country of origin worth $1.35 per ounce, when there are ton of varieties that only cost 40 to 60 cents an ounce.I agree with other reviewers who complained about the bag. No way to close it save for a bag clip. It was filled with a lot of air, and while it looked like the regular 12 ounce bags I buy at the store, it only contained 7.5 ounces. My 4 star rating reflects the flavor only. If I factored in the high cost, I'd only give it a 2 star rating. But then again, I'm not a coffee snob.

Not true to weight.
Even including the packaging, this did not weigh as listed. I will say, however, that the flavor was good a little stronger than I normally drink so I actually had to reduce the amount I used, which was fantastic.

Smooth bold cup of coffee here.
A very deep and bold flavor that hits on all the notes I really love in a medium which is my favorite level of coffee. Though its not every one that reaches this point in boldness that works with the combination of sweetness from sugar and cream with cinnamon that I love. The acid level isn't really bad here with this product as I have had no issues with my stomach comfort after using this one. It has a very smooth flavor and made a very fresh cup of coffee. Overall makes a great cup of coffee that is very smooth with the chocolate notes I enjoy.

Authentic and tasty!
Having had many types of coffee as a barista and being from Costa Rica myself, I definitely have high standards for good coffee as it was part of everyday life growing up. I love that it's coffee beans from Costa Rica, as it says it's from "Don Claudio's Farm in Perez Zeledon". Although, it also says it's 'made and roasted in the USA'... so is it really Costa Rican? The beans are, hopefully. On the other hand, the coffee itself is a beautiful medium roast with a very fresh flavor and hints of citrus and caramel and the flavor definitely shines with some turbinado sugar. It's also preground and it's quite a fine grind compared to most preground, so it seems better for pourovers so you don't get much of the residue if you were to use a traditional drip coffee machine. Overall, it's a lovely cup of coffee made with quality beans from Costa Rica!

Good coffee
I'm going to break with the other reviewers and say that I like that the bag is small because it gets used up faster and small bags that are sealed stay fresher longer when it comes to pre-ground coffee. That being said the value for the price isn't there. It's good coffee, brews up well and I have no complaints about it. Perfect breakfast blend with good aroma
