Perfect tools for espresso
Was gifted an espresso machine and wanted some tools to make a good cup. The tamper gives the perfect pressure. Perfect for a starter is what I'm told but I think it's good for all. Yes I recommend it.

Made My Espresso Shots a Lot Smoother!
The overall look and aesthetic of this set are really nice, as it's wood with metal accents. The 30lb spring gives you a solid indication of the perfect tamp pressure, while the distribution tool lets you ensure that the grounds are evenly distributed and not clumped or packed in one area more than another. I think my ONLY issue with this is that the metal accents are different colors; the distributor is bronze, while the tamp is silver. Everything feels nice and solid, and the tamp comes apart for easy cleaning.

Great looking...but has some issues
This is a really good looking tamper set, the tamper is the perfect size, feels comfortable in the hand, and has a nice wood finish. The distributor looks nice in a matching wood finish with brass threaded screw top lid. If I went by looks alone it is 5 of 5 stars.However, there are a couple of big flaws with this unit. First, it is not calibrated to 30lbs. It only presses at 20-22 lbs before it bottoms out the spring. Additionally, there is no lip to rest against the portfilter to limit the amount of force...so really, you could put unlimited force on it when tamping. Additionally, the tamping action is not smooth. It feels like something is getting caught up in the mechanism and it feels almost "gritty", unlike other tampers I've used that are as smooth as butter (0 of 5). The only thing negative on the disperser is that it has a few less "wires" as others I've used. It still gets the job done though (4 of 5).

Does the job and looks classy too
Hefty weight and good construction on all parts. Clean with a cloth after use and it stays in perfect condition. Very happy with the buy.
