This Connector is used FROM the power source. The color code is reversed if going TO the charge converter or otherwise the device which uses the power. Buyer Be Ware.

Worked great for my application and seemed to be good quality.

In addition to the reversed colors already mentioned, the wires are not 100% copper, but tinned copper. It is hard to see the copper color even on the cut ends or when scraping the strands. Other than that, the cover itself is good and it looks like it will hold up well. It was not hard to install. I used colored heat-shrink tubing to change the wire colors to match the trailer wiring just in case someone needs to look at it in the future and would think I wired it backward. I would prefer the colors be correct to begin with. Putting a disclaimer in the description to say that the purchaser should not use the colors is not an adequate substitute for doing it right in the first place.

Seems heavy duty and easy to instsll

I got this to use on an enclosed trailer that I am rigging up as a camping/astrophotography equipment trailer. I plan on using solar to charge a 200 amp hour battery bank and also have a quiet generator for those times when there is just not enough sun or I need an extra boost to charge the batteries.And I have to say I was amazed at how good this connector is. Starting with the cable itself, it is 10 AWG stranded cable with the ends left unmade so you can attach the connectors of your choice. They even went as far as providing a cut in the ends at a good strip point so you won't need wire strippers to prep the ends. The plastic used in the surface mount connector is slightly pliable. That will make for and install where you don't have to worry as much about over-tightening the mounting screws for fear of breaking it. And the pliable plastic will ensure a longer life span. The protective cap fits tightly so you can keep the connectors dry and dirt free when not in use.I was really surprised at how well made this was. I compared it to the one mounted on my RV and this one used heavier duty wires and the connector itself is just better made. If you are looking for a surface mount SAE connector, you can stop your search, this is the one you should purchase.
