Does the cap give you an airtight seal? I'm planning on using this to store carbonated water in the fridge.

Not sure about pressurized contents.....but can tell you that I keep freshly squeezed juices in it....often bottled at room temperature then refrigerated. When I open once cold there is an obvious hermetic seal being broken. So it's a form of airtight. The difference is that mine is a vacuum and yours is pressurized. Seems like a decent bet though.
