I have this heater in a kiddie pool that is home to my turtles. It works great. I like the cover around this one, we have hard water and lime built up on a different brand heater we had and busted it open. This style is doing much better.

I returned the first unit received because it reported a temperature 4 to 5 degrees higher than 4 other thermometers. Amazon sent a second identical heater that initially also reported a temperature 4 to 5 degrees higher than actual. Because of the heater’s high Amazon rating I decided to let it work for a few days. After 5 days it differs by about 2 degrees but reliably maintains the temperature I want within .5 degrees. I did move the heater to the bottom horizontally in the aquarium and that seems to be the best position.I highly recommend this heater but warn users to not rely on its thermometer function. I suspect that this is good advice for any heater.

Works really well and feels high quality. Temperature isn’t %100 accurate but still good enough.

This heater worked perfectly! I have a moderate size tank and it recovered the tank to the desired temperature quickly without going over the max value. Works well! It was very easy to install and has not had any issues in performance.
