Surprisingly well made!
This review is for this item:"Digital Wall Clock, 11.5" Extra Large Display Calendar Alarm Day Clock with Date and Day of Week, Temperature,2 USB Chargers,3 Alarms & 12/24H LED Desk Clock for Office, Living Room, Bedroom, Elderly"UPDATE: It is now February 2024, and this clock is still working perfectly and still keeping time perfectly as well! I'm really glad that I got this clock and it's one of the best purchases I've made. I've had no problems with it and it keeps time extremely well, I've never had to reset or adjust the time.I expected this to be just another Chinese POS like everything else, but this clock actually seems to be well-made and well-designed!Setting the time and date is easy because (on the back) there are separate buttons for DAY - MONTH - YEAR - HOUR - MINUTE, and even a button to move the hour ahead-or-back one hour, very useful for Daylight Savings Time adjustment; just press the button! (Just make sure that when you set the time, the time displayed is ahead one hour (if you're setting the time after the 'spring-forward', or the displayed time is one hour back (for the 'fall-back' time in the fall). After that, when the time change comes along in the spring or fall, just press this button once and it will move the displayed time back-and-fourth one hour. All clocks should have this function as long as we are stuck with DST!Viewing the display close-up, the numbers and letters look a little 'blocky', but at any reasonable distance the alphanumerics looks better.I can't speak, yet, on how accurate the clock is, because I've only had it for a couple of days, but the temperature display seems agrees exactly with other thermometers, as it agrees with my digital thermostat setting, and with two other temperature displays I have in the same room (an LCD clock with temp display, and my carbon monoxide detector with temp display).Even the back of the clock looks nice; instead of just a flat piece of plastic, it has a pattern of small dots that looks nice, and that is a detail that they didn't have to bother with, especially since it will generally never be seen, but I appreciated that all the same. To me, it just indicates the likelihood that they spent time on other small details as well that might be unseen, but possibly important, and that's more than most designers and companies will bother to do.There are 4 or 5 brightness levels (unfortunately, it does not automatically dim itself), and I think I have it set on the next-to-highest brightness level, and that can be easily seen in the daytime, and does not seem too bright even in the middle of the night (perhaps because of the blue color of the alphanumerics). This clock even has a small internal battery that keeps the date and time if the power goes out, our if you have to unplug it for some reason, such as to move it, and the inclusion of the internal battery, again, shows me that they actually thought out the design of this clock really well, and didn't cheap-out and cut corners where I would have expected them to. Impressive. (You'll have to pull out a small plastic strip to activate the internal battery; this keeps keep it from being used and running down before you get the clock.)Keep in mind that this clock does NOT run on batteries, though, it is plugged-in and powered by a typical USB-type cord, just like your phone (the USB cord and charger are included). The small internal battery is just to save the time and date when the clock is unplugged or your home power goes out.The clock has a single hole in the back to hang the clock on a wall, but because there is only one hanging point instead of two, the power cord on the left-side of the clock will make the clock sit a little crooked unless you do something to keep that from happening; not having 2 hanging points on the back to be able to use 2 nails to keep it level on the wall is perhaps the only thing I can fault the designers of this clock for. Also included is a plastic brace that can be connected at the back so the clock can sit on top of a desk or dresser. This clock also has 3 alarms and a snooze bar on top (which also adjusts the display's brightness level) but I doubt I'll ever use the alarm functions as I depend on my cell phone for that. Overall, I am very impressed with this clock/calendar, would happily buy it as a gift for people that have trouble remembering the day and date (or even the year, which is also displayed), and I will buy more of these for other rooms of the apartment if needed, I like it very much! Highly recommended, and this is perhaps one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon in the past 10 years.

My Companion Clock. I LOVE IT !!
It is obvious that this clock has been very thoughtfully engineered in its design. The result is a superb clock outstanding in its style, features and with ease of use.I adore this clock so much that I thought I’d go through some points from my observations that makes it so worthwhile to have. I can’t say enough good things about this clock, but I will try:1) Right off, the clock is packaged in the same welcome secured way as if it were a tablet.2) Upon taking it out of the box, I felt how very lightweight it is. I weighed it: Exactly one pound.3) The display consists of well laid out LED blue segments across the clock. I find this to be very Soothing and a welcome departure from the primarily Red segments displayed of most clocks. The display actually has 4 subtly different styles of segments designed into the clock, with the time section of the hour and minutes centered and made larger with having thicker and longer segments.4) The display (10 x 7) is larger than any of my other digital clocks but not cumbersome. The large display size is the first clock where I don’t have to put on my glasses to see the time and I don’t have to crane my neck that I’ve always done to look at smaller clocks. This is such a welcome relief on both fronts. The clock has elegant smooth beveled edges around the display. Classy!5) There are 5 dimmer settings for the display built in. Usually clocks can only be set for ‘high’ and ‘low’. This is great where I have different settings for the display depending on how I feel. I note that the dimmest setting is quite dim but still readable. I primarily use settings 2 – 5. And I do vary among them for different moods.6) The clock has dual USB ports built into the left side which is very convenient. No longer do I have to bend down to use an outlet for charging devices. I don’t know the amp output, but the charge output is fast for my Samsung galaxy phone and Kindle. And it’s a heck of a lot faster than my brother’s iphone cube charger. (He uses my clock for his charging whenever he is around).7) The clock has a temperature readout as being smaller sized to the right of the time on the display. I usually find clocks with temperature displays to be off and so I ignore their reading. However, this clock has a very accurate temperature readout display. I tested it alongside a calibrated separate thermometer and the clock was always within 1 degree of it. Finally, I can look at the clock and see if it is really a surrounding hot temperature wise or if I happen to just feel hot.8) The way the clock is laid out with its various sections of display, and its nice large size, it would also be suited for a person with dementia. The only thing that might be added would be to display whether it was morning, afternoon or evening time of the day. But this clock does show if it is “AM” or “PM” in clear solid lines. So that may be sufficient for those individuals with mild to moderate dementia. And I believe for the general population user, having a continued display of each specific period of the day would probably not be welcomed and clutter up an otherwise most informative, yet clear display clock.9) The clock has 3 alarms - again consistent with having a feature that has more versatility than other available clocks.10) There is even a feature I had not seen on any other clock; the ability to press a button to instantly advance the time ahead by one hour. Quite neat for daylight savings.11) There are a multitude of buttons on the back to handle all the features of the clock. But they are laid out so well that I found I did not need to read the manual. The back buttons are stamped and well defined, and everything is intuitive. The top of the clock has a long snooze bar and dimmer control, that you just press it without having to go to the back.12) I keep the clock on the table where I work, but it can be mounted on a wall. I read how others said that the clock was skewed on the wall somewhat when mounted because the power cable is on the left side instead of going straight down. Well C’mon, in that situation, all anybody has to do is place a strategic thin piece of clear tape on a section of the cable and the clock is instantly properly aligned. In summary, I can only write pros on the clock and I call it my “companion clock” because I feel it has made me more productive in my work to have it near me on the table with its large bold time display and the other sections such as month, date and day of week, temperature and with 3 alarms and dimmer control.. It gives me real meaning as to how I am spending my time at tasks. And when I happen to show it off to guests, they really seem to like the look of this clock. Having this clock is a definite plus addition to my home and work. The company with this product has gotten everything right in the design and I echo other reviewers in stating that I LOVE THIS CLOCK. I am so happy!

Easy to read. Has the right info on clock face.
Large but not huge, clear lettering, multiple brightness settings (so glad as I have it on the lowest). With multiple irregular yet very important commitments to keep track of, I would sometimes panic I wasn’t where I was supposed to be. Being able to check the day of the week, especially, at a glance has made a big difference. My hands can be dirty or my phone in my pocket and even my glasses off and I can read this clock from most places in my kitchen. It also has alarms but I have not used them.

Nice clock, easy to read.
Pictures: clock dimmed at 1 (this is what I use when trying to sleep, I love it) #2 is the clock dimmed at 2 (I use this setting during the day), and #3 is the clock at 5, Very bright. Dimmer button is with the snooze button on top.I'm very happy with the clock. It is larger than I expected and that was a pleasant surprise. I can see why someone wouldn't want to hang it as to do any of the settings it has to come down. I'm thinking of finding an easy way to take it down and hang it up. (that's why I gave it a 4. Need for some improvement.) For now, I just have it sitting on my bedside table. Very easy to set up. I like that. Only thing I didn't like is the buttons are hard to read and all they are is indented lettering, so same color as the clock. You have to get the light to hit it just right to be able to read them. Everything seems to be like that anymore. I guess the Chinese have better eyes than I do.
