Snow & Co is my favorite "adult beverage" restaurant in KC, so I was THRILLED when they published a book with recipes for all of my favorite drinks. I half expected this book to be a little precious (lots of hipster ingredients, specialty herbs that you can't find at the grocery store, etc.), but I should have known better. Snow & Co owner Jerry Nevins is one of the most down to earth people you'll ever meet, and the book reads like having a conversation with him. He breaks it down gently for those of us who don't have the time, inclination, or equipment to produce restaurant quality drinks - i.e., this is how you do this if you're broke and tired, this is how you do it if you have company coming and you're willing to put a little more effort and $$$ into things, and this is how you do it if you're a bored Atlanta housewife with more money than you know what to do with and want to impress your book club girls (the paraphrasing is mine).Ultimately, there are A TON of recipes in here, and there's something for everyone. The only complaint I had when I opened it is that I hoped it would be bigger (I like big books and I cannot lie), but I also understand that it's sort of meant to be another bartender bible that fits comfortably under the counter. Perfect summer book to add to your recipe collection!

The best cocktail, not just frozen cocktail book of the year. This is one to break out every summer for inspiration and to be the star of your own bar slinging some delicious cocktails to your friends.

I have worked in the service industry for over 10 years. There is nothing that I hate more than when someone asks me for a terrible tasting cocktail made in a blender. These drinks are not designed to be made in a blender. and it shows. Through the use of quality ingredients, you will be able to make all of your friends and family think you are a master bartender and the life of the parties this summer. One of the best things to try is to make multiple, contrasting flavors to mix together (Sailors Gold and Cloud9, Purple Rain and Limey Bastard).

This book is a must have for cocktail enthusiasts. The recipes are great, and easy to make. The drinks in this books are great for any summer party!

The recipes look great, but the ingredients? All obscure specialty liqueurs and spirits, completely unobtainable where I live (major west coast city) and so far i haven't found a single recipe I can make. They do look good though, and the techniques i can use, but not the recipes.

Saw this in a store and didn't buy it at the time.... got it later for my husband as a Father's Day gift. He loves to create adult beverages at home so this was the perfect purchase!

I guess I should've looked into the writers more before ordering this book. Each recipe calls for unique overly specialized ingredients that you're unlikely to have at home, and unless you're a very special type of home cocktail making connoisseur, unlikely to use again.No particularly creative blended drink flavor profiles and any creativity leans heavily on the use of generally overpriced or hard to find ingredients whose subtleties will be lost in a frozen drink. This book seemed more an exercise in ego building for the writers than a useful source for creative blend at home drinks.(Since no one asked, I've been in the bar business for over 30 years and a bar owner in NYC for over 20 years. I collect cocktail recipe books as a hobby and for inspiration, and some of my own recipes have won awards over the years).
