Do you really need it
Got this for my mam , eyesight issues so this is a godsend she can read her books , very happy it brings the print to great size thanks !!!!

Impressive gadget
I think this is a very good product. Sadly, my eyes are such that even 5x is no longer good enough for me. But it was very useful until recently.My only gripe is that the instructions that came with it were about 5 point type.(It's a bit like when you get a message from the NHS on your phone in tiny type asking how your treatment by the opthalmologist went.)

Simple lump of plastic.
Not sure if the one I got was faulty but looked like it had bend sat on a hot spot[ might be how it's manufactured didn't give the x5 magnification and capture an light sources, felt cloud to me as well. [I'm look for glass ones now.]

It does work, sort of
At first glance this seems cheap and nasty, as it is all plastic. There was a blemish on the lens surface of mine, straight out of the box. But it does work if you hold it at the right distance and the light is at the correct angle. If it isn't at the correct angle, you get problems with shadows from the frame or reflections from the Fresnel lens surface. Because it is made of plastic it is light to hold.
