This sander is amazing from doing ceilings to walls. It works great hardly any dust and clean up, which is amazing when you have a little child that lives with you. I highly recommend the sander.

I think the only product that could receive a five-star rating for drywalling is someone else doing it instead of me. I hate mudding and taping. I apply too much, sand too much, try to get it too perfect every time, and generate more dust than I'm sure is healthy.This made the process a little less ugly. It is heavy, but provides a better, more even pressure than I do by hand. The large surface area makes the job go faster. While it still generates a lot of dust, it does so less than by hand, or even with a vacuum hand sander.It doesn't make your mudding any better, though. I see these hotshots mudding entire walls that would take me hours to finish. The sanding part is nicer, now.

Bit of a beginner when it comes to drywall and mud. I have done some smaller projects, but this was the first time doing a full room, and a ceiling at that. I was careful with my trowel but definitely wasnt as smooth as the professionals, this sander was really easy to use and helped keep some of the dust down. Certainly made my project go quicker than if i had sanded by hand.

It has a filtered exhaust port with a catch bag. The speed and exhaust can be adjusted to allow the operator take heavier or lighter cuts. There is a halo edge lighting which helps see the surface being sanded ad to target areas for more sanding. A harness is provided to help make the tool easier to support.While this is an effective way to clean up painted textures, such as popcorn or heavy knockdown, it is not dust free. A shop vacuum helps some with the dust, but a lot is still generated. The unit is fairly heavy, but the provided harness helps ease the strain on the operator. That said, I could only work 30 minutes at a time before needing to take a break. I did get a lot of sanding done in 30 minutes.The abrasive pads are OK, but do wear quickly, so be sure to have extras in hand.Assembly was fairly easy and I like the carrying bag, which holds all of the provided accessories and the sander itself.This is an effective sanding tool but requires some practice if you have never used a power sander before. Just take your time, use a light touch and a slower speed to start. This unit has more power than you will likely ever need, but it is nice to have the extra capacity if it is needed. Be aware that power sanding will create a lot of dust., even with an external vacuum, which is highly recommended. you will need to isolate the work area with plastic sheeting.This is a good value for the price and should handle most drywall sanding jobs where a fair amount of material needs to be removed. Recommended.

This makes sanding so much faster and easier. It's powerful and combined with a shop vac you'll really cut down on the dust. It's key for ceilings, making everything go exponentially faster because I don't have to stand on a ladder or set up scaffolding. If you have anything more than one sheet of drywall to sand for I say get it. You're life will be much better.

So I am no pro so this is a newbie's opinion of this product. After looking at pricing for similar products this one seems to be very fairly priced for what you get.it has great power- so for someone new to using tools like this it was a bit stronger than I was expecting a a bit heavy but it beat manually sanding. It has variable speeds but be careful with the higher speeds or else you will sand off all your work. There is a lot of dust when using it so mask and googles are recommended.
