Extremely great new album, the band keeps evolving
A lot of Smashing Pumpkins fans want the music of the 90s and yes, all of those albums were classic but a band can’t keep copying themselves. I’ve been listening to the pumpkins since 1995 and I’ve been a huge fan ever since; I saw them on tour in 2023 when they were supporting atum on the world is a vampire tour, wow! Speaking of atum, this sounds like the next logical step from that triple album. This album has a lot more hard songs/soft to hard dynamics songs but there are a couple that are on the softer side. Some of the songs here have the production sound of Mellon collie/siamese dream but with a more modern sounding vibe and like I said definitely atum like songs, the songs that are softer remind me of the adore/oceania production (even Cyr at times which is not bad). The actual songwriting is extremely impressive and definitely well executed. Billy corgan plays guitar, bass, synth, piano, James Iha is just amazing on guitar as usual and jimmy chamberlain is just as good as he was in the Gish days, hard hitting and precise. Billy’s voice is actually really great on here. It’s reminiscent of the mixing of Mellon collie or machina and it’s perfect with the female vocals in the background. Here’s my favorites that really stand out to me: Pentagrams, Edin, Goeth the Fall, Sighommi, 999, Sicarus, War Dreams of Itself, Pentecost, Who Goes There, Murnau . They are all stellar and I am very surprised but happy that the smashing pumpkins are still making music this late in their career of ghis caliber. The complaint I would lodge is that Billy’s lyrics can be kind of corny but not every song and I can forgive it. If you love this band and like their albums, get this now!!

Smashing Pumpkins latest deserves more attention
Sure didn’t hear much positive press clamor about this release - and with Indy music consultants and rock radio consultants as well as seemingly deaf music directors seemingly passing on this as well - I’m here to assert this is a damn good cd that will likely bump it up to 5 stars with more listens!. Pumpkin fans will LOVE it!

We missed you guys.
Other than Atum (Their Rock Opera), their best work in a decade. Good to have them back.

Not just continuity, a step toward the dark
GOD, please allow your servant William and his band of fellow gentlemen to step further next time, back into the darkness, back and lower toward the floor in the shadows crawl Numan, Sylvian, HOBOSAPIEN. "please god"

Every Song Sounds the Same
All the songs sound the same.Come out with another album like Zeigeist! That was their best album of the 2000s!

Smashing new release
The new release from the smashing Pumpkins is a return to their original sound. If you’re new to the band this is a good place to start. If you are already a fan this is a must have in your collection.
