This is not a replacement for the brita filter. I tried using it in my brita pitcher and it was too small. The design is very different as well, I wouldn’t think it would filter well at all. Buy the brita brand one!

With this I had to really push it down into my dispenser because the water just kept flowing through the crack all around it instead of getting filtered at all. Took me a few tries to get it fully sealed and it was definitely a frustrating experience I wouldn't be eager to repeating, but once I pushed it down hard enough to get a good seal I didn't have any more issues with it. It's filtering the water fine just like the brand name. Will it actually last 6 months? Don't know yet. So far so good though ... once you manage to get it sealed in place.

This filter fits and works well in my Amazon pitcher (designed for Brita filter). It is a little bit shorter than the original, but there are no leakages or bypasses of water. The filter seams to be lighter than others. But it cleans the water from unwanted smell, the water tastes good.One last thing: A lot of filter user claim the filters are clogged after short time. This is due to the natural gravity effect - the filter material is compressing. And if it is smaller in grains this effect is accelerated. Take the filter out and shake it a few time. It works again fine.And if your filter is done in short time it is due to your poor water quality - exactly the reason why you are using filter. My filter holds longer than recommended because I use them only for the bad chlorine taste and smell in our water, which has otherwise a good quality. If you have poor water quality the filter will give up in shorter time than the time indicated on the package. This is an average life span and vary with the water quality.

Using this on my Brita pitcher with SmartLight indicator. These feel lighter than the original Elite filters my pitcher came with, not sure what to make of that if that affects the performance. This does a good job removing any weird taste on my tap water just like my original filter so that's good.The cost benefit though seems poor. Looking at the prices, an OEM elite filter is going for ~$15 each so I'm not sure why wouldn't someone go with that at this point. If the price was lowered this would be a more solid recommendation.
